Fairy Tale Mysteries: The Puppet Thief ⭐️⭐⭐☆☆

Won on SteamGifts HOG
3 hours playtime, 17 of 17 achievements (100%)

Two short HOGs from Artifex Mundi. They turned out to be really average in comparison to their other games, especially Princess Isabella is not "great". It looked like it's gonna introduce some new, cool mechanics, but in the end they didn't utilize them properly. So they're definitely not best games released by AM

Won on SteamGifts Walking simulator Rich story
2 hours playtime, No achievements

I really liked this game. It's hard to sum it up, just like Stanley Parable. It's not really game with lots of game mechanic but more like experience-game, and everyone will "feel" it differently. For me - even thought this game is really short, I wasn't able to complete it in one take. I had to stop mid-way and leave it for few days. As it talked about topics I'm struggling with on my own

Walking simulator Rich story
17 hours playtime, 12 of 12 achievements (100%)

Another nice walking simulator, but this time with puzzle / logic touch. I got all achievements, but had to use some guides, as few puzzles were way too abstract even for me. How am I supposed to know that some random information in newspaper in previous level is connected with recent puzzle? xD Also level design is sometimes messy and I had problems with finding my way around.

And it's buggy. I played in normal version so bugs were mostly eliminated (they say redux is more buggy). Apart from not closing properly (had to be manually killed every time in task manager), physic can do weird stuff - like elevator got stuck diagonally as I didn't do "right" sequence of actions, and found my own way to reach goal. But it "fixed" itself after I reversed my actions and do them in "proper" order.

I got this 4free as my Bday gift ( ^_^ ). And beat it in 3 sessions, as it turned out to be really good. Again - not really "game", as there is not much gameplay in it. You basically get access to police database and have to find out what happened by searching via certain keywords. Though I think that devs didn't use full potential of their idea. Like I was storing videos with excluding testimonies, thinking I will have to compare them. But it wasn't important, as we don't have to find "truth". It's enough to say that we understand what happened (even when we don't) and game will end.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition ⭐️⭐⭐⭐⭐

Won on SteamGifts Platformer Action
15 hours playtime, 52 of 57 achievements (91%)

I don’t like to watch many gameplays before playing something, as I’m easily spoiled. And things that people find unimportant spoil whole fun for me. So I thought it’s some cute platformer like Nihinumbra. I couldn’t be more wrong xD Turned out it’s Super Meat Boy in nice wrapper, which was waiting to lure me in, and throw me into pit of never ending pain. It had to use trick to force me to play in it, as I sweared to myself that I will never again try to play in platformer like SMB or They Bleed Pixels >_<

But as you can see I beat whole game, even went to collect some easy achievements along the way. It's hard, but fulfilling. I didn't feel like game want me to replay the same moment over and over again just to enjoy my suffering. It starts nicely and easy, to have steep difficulty rise after 1st time event (that's time when I realized I'm playing SMB in nice wrapper, After slamming my hands on keyboard way too hard, and had forced walk around my room to calm down xD).

And I'm really in awe that Tumalu wants to get all achievements in it. I wouldn't even try to beat game on one life or without power-ups.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4 ⭐️⭐⭐☆☆

Won on SteamGifts FPS RPG-like Building simulator
76 hours playtime, 48 of 84 achievements (57%)

And last game I beat in recent month (or like 1,5 month ago). I won it on SG few months ago, but didn't have time to sit and play (as I forget plot easily), so I had to have lots of spare time to start it. Plus they were releasing patches along the way, so I wanted to play in patched version.

And, oh well. I beat nearly 100% of base game (I think I don't have 2 achievements), hoping that there will be something I will really enjoy, or that other ending will be better from stuff I already saw. But nope.

If you want to play in Skyrim (but with gun) you will really enjoy it. As you can run around, shoot, run some more and shoot again. And watch how aircraft forget how to fly, start to spin like crazy before crashing on the ground. Like stone which was threw into the lake. Quick, hard and with big bang. So nice FPS with RPG elements, but really bad RPG per se.

And few games I'm playing recently

- Road to Gehenna DLC from Talos Principle (2 of 4 ach) - beat few levels and it's really interesting. Puzzles are harder than in base game and story is good so far. It still amazes me how creators of Serious Sam were able to develop such masterpiece.

- Star Wars: knight of the Old Republic (31 of 57 ach) - God, I really want to have 100% of achievements in this game, but can't force myself to continue my playthrough as dark jedi woman. It's too hard, I'm nice dragon and killing random NPCs makes me sad ; _ ;

- Chroma Squad (22 of 43 ach) - I won it on SG and I'm really enjoy it. Would beat it long time ago if I wouldn't have so much stuff to do at uni

- The Incredible Adventures of van Helsing: Final Cut (19 of 50 ach) - playing in it in co-op and I'm at the beginning of 3rd "game". But it got so tedious some time ago... and whole plot is like meh. Will beat it in like 6 - 7h most probably

- Paladins (9 of 33 ach) - again, co-op game. I played in TF2 for some time and didn't really enjoy it, this one so far is better. I don't die like crazy, and last time I was even able to get 12 killstreak

- Broken Age (4 of 45 ach) - starts interesting. People say that 2nd part is worse, hope I won't notice it too much.

- Skulls of the Shogun (0 of 27 ach) - strategy game, which will have to wait till I beat other games. As it didn't make me want to go back to it atm after beating first 3 levels.

And thanks escollo and tso184 for your help with post formatting :D

Wow, what a way to start on BLAEO! Welcome!

That’s a nice looking layout and progress, stick to it. Lots of games you have played in October, and I can see that you have already made progress pre-BLAEO. That’s some nice dedication you have there.

Good luck on university too! :)

Mskotor

Thanks :D

I saw some nice looking layouts around here, and as I like to procrastinate by making weird stuff, I decided I will put together few layouts and make something of my own. And I’m quite happy how it looks, tho post is most probably bit too long, as separator above F4 doesn’t work properly. Lol. Nothing can be perfect :D

uguleley

That’s quite good progress in a month’s time, I also noticed that you’ve got your backlog in an impressive standing with over half of your games either beaten or completed. :) Good luck and have fun with your following games!

Mskotor

Thanks :D

I was annoyed with ~25 completion rate on Steam, so I started to get easy achievements in short games. And then it escalated to the point I want to get all moderately hard achievements in games I play. Which means I have to beat game to the end, hence high percentage of played games :D

And I’m not hoarder, so I don’t have problem with huge influx of cheap games from bundles that’d upp my unplayed percentage.

uguleley

I’ve been trying to do the same thing with cheap bundles, and ever since joining here I’ve definitely become more hesitant to add games that I have no interest to play. It helps with the percentage, for sure. :)

P.S. I noticed you mention above that the separator doesn’t work properly in your post. You’ve got one hyphen too many in there, four instead of three.

Mskotor

I didn’t want to mess more with it while posting, but your post reignited my need to procrastinate again xD

It wasn’t hyphen problem, but instead of that I didn’t close one <p> tag in previous paragraph. Which resulted in broken separator. Coding is hard

uguleley

Huh. I could swear I saw a fourth hyphen in that line there, my eyes were probably doing tricks. I’m fairly certain I’m not drunk either. Well, kudos to your code mashing success, keep drumming that space button!

Arbiter Libera

Eh, who cares about dates anyway?

Great format and very readable. I’m also glad you’re having fun with Chroma Squad because I reviewed it last month and was absolutely taken aback by how fun it was. It does require multiple playthroughs for all the achievements if you care about that stuff, though.

Mskotor

Nah, won’t go for all achievements. But I made manual save backup midway 4th chapter, so I will try to see all endings that way.

EvilBlackSheep

Nice progress and really good games!! Welcome to BLAEO :3

Mskotor

Thx :D
