Notes
There goes an another year of backlog fighting. This year saw me mostly playing (and trying, but never finishing) a lot of Game Pass games, finishing my 3DS backlog (by cutting it short - I’ve lost interest in a lot of its games) and starting a new era of backlog fighting as the Steam Deck is now here to help me. Since my Game Pass subscription is ending and I’ve played everything of interest on the 3DS, I am going back to my Steam backlog full-time for this year, and I joined Play or Pay to have an extra incentive to keep playing. I also want to go back to regular monthly progress reports, as I didn’t write a single report in 2022 aside for this one.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and have a happy new year!
Happy New Year! Posts like these are the reason I bought the game pass and it was soo worth it. It is not good for my neglected backlog though :P
You played a lot of really good games, do you have any favorites that you played this year?
Happy New Year to you too :) You’re right, Game Pass doesn’t help with the Steam backlog… but at least it can make the wishlist a bit smaller xD
Out of my favorites this year, Judgment and Lost Judgment are obvious choices because, well, they’re both Yakuza. xD
Aside from that, I’d count A Way Out - me and my friend loved it because of fun co-op gameplay, good story with an amazing twist and all those opportunities to goof off despite the story telling you should probably hurry up - and we would really like to play similar games like it too. We tried It Takes Two, but we didn’t like it as much, and we ended up abandoning it halfway through.
Congratulations on your assassinations and happy new year! How was The Somnium Files and what game are you looking forward to playing the most in 2023?
Thanks! I liked The Somnium Files. The story is really good and I enjoyed all of the twists, turns and WTF moments it had. The humor was mostly good but I think there were too many crude sex jokes for my taste… The puzzle sequences were hit-or-miss for me since the solutions made no sense at all (which was intended by the devs, but still…), but at least the incorrect solutions were funny and I could use rewinds and dialogue skipping to get back where I was.
And for this year my most anticipated game so far is Like a Dragon: Ishin. I’ve always wanted to play the original but I couldn’t since it was only in Japanese, but now with the remake coming out, I can finally do that :)
Ah, I’ll skip it then. Thank you!
