Hello I’m back~This month I did quite a lot of games, so long post ahead. :P Added a summarized section for my reviews since I admire people that can make their reviews short but precise. Let me know if it’s good or not. :3

Good stickman Portal. Quick 100%.
🤷Meh:
Most maps can be "cheated" by jumping.
Full reviewThis game is, average. It's a good implementation of Portal in stickman form. The one problem it has tho is you can jump exceptionally high with up button, thus makes it so that I can use 0 portals and just jump to victory for most of the maps. I would think that it's a bad decision, except that I'm not really trying to play it seriously so I guess I'm not complaining. xD Give it a try if you happen to have it. A quick 100%.

Achievement grind is boring. Sounds are bad.
Full reviewAnother game from spring cleaning. This game is, alright I suppose. A bit boring for the achievement grind but it's a short 100%. I would recommend muting your sound tho(since there's no in-game mute button) since the bgm and sfx are bad. I always put on music with my phone and move left and right to the rhythm and you can see the line just bob left and right. It's pretty cute and kinda feels nice. A also discovered two interesting things about the game. First one being the game prioritize right arrow since when I press left and right arrow at the same time the line goes right. The second is you can kinda bug the game into 0 friction. When moving you'll feel a bit slow/sluggish due to friction, and moving rapidly left and right will sometimes make it so you move extremely fast like there's no friction, which is pretty fun. I guess I'm just finding things to think of and do while doing the boring grind. lol
👍Thumbs up:
Girl looks nice.
👎Thumbs down:
Guessing game. Bland characters/story.
Full reviewI kinda forgot why I downloaded this game and started playing. lol But I did, and it's kinda bad.
This is a VN with a mechanic of "guess what the next password is" to progress the story. Yes I'm not wrong with that, at least in my experience. At the start of the game it explained that important keywords will be marked with 【】(although it did say some might not be in that), yet most of the keywords aren't quoted. So it just all becomes guessing game and trail and error, which is very frustrating and boring when you get the same line of "I don't think you need to search that now". I got stuck at one point of the game and had to refer to a guide. Even then I had to guess a bit since the guide wasn't detailed. You know what this game reminds me of? Another game called Façade, which is also a input text to progress(well, not really but let's just say it is) story. That game is released in 2005 and it does it better than this game by using AI. The best thing is, you won't get stuck since no input counts as a player interaction as well.
The story didn't help it either. It's the typical soft sci-fi trope of "Ohh an AI had conscious and fell in love with a human" bullshit. And the order of the keywords make it hilariously stupid sometimes when the last line the robot is asking "Are we underground? " and then next she's asking if she can go "see the moon", and act surprised when protagonist says no. The characters are bland and story is boring. It's also made by a Japanese dev so translation are a bit wunky at times.
You know what would make this game better without the need of AI? You could just write lines for all possible words "within your story" that the player might type, kinda like Stanley Parable. It doesn't even have to be that much lines as you can make use of the tsunder feeling of the robot with lines like: "That's a secret" "I'm not telling you that" "Why are you asking me that? " "Do you want to get punched" etc. It makes the robot much more lively and real, and gives variation to spice up failed attempts. At least the girl looks fine.
👍Thumbs up:
Great survival/build game. Fun achievements. Free.
🤷Meh:
Potential bad multiplayer experience as with all online survival games.
Full reviewI decided to write a review for this game since I just got it 100% completed. Originally started playing this game to get items so a lot of my hours are idled. Also I play singleplayer only(except for multiplayer achievements which I grinded with another person).
This game is actually pretty good, if you look past the blocky visual. I actively played a bunch when I first started the game. Fooled around with basic survival, buildings and such. It's real fun. Reminds me a bit of Minecraft(cuz of core gameplay and blocks). And then I idled daily for items. Tbh not real idling, since I just build a garden at the side of a farm with a bunch of spawned in safes and then I would out of boredom kill zombies using crossbow and kitchen knife.
Now, I was bored and don't know what to play(yes, again) so I decided to try getting achievements for the game(I have thought of doing it before but since the process is long I gave up). To my surprise I had a lot of fun doing missions and uncovering secrets. In the end I got all singleplayer achievements and found a partner on astats Discord and got the multiplayer ones.
So, overall, not a bad game. Would recommend since it's free, but maybe not play multiplayer unless with friends since we all know how these zombie survival games work with randoms, or maybe only play PVE servers.

HOG's gameplay. No achievements.
👎Thumbs down:
Voice acting. Too much backtracking.
Full reviewThis is a monthly theme game. It's a HOG~I would say generally my opinion for HOGs are, they are alright. Story always cheesy, gameplay pretty ok.
I don't really know what to say about this game. The voice acting is pretty bad. Gameplay has a lot of backtracking, which I don't really like but is pretty much expected in HOGs. One good thing is I didn't get scared by its cheap jumpscares woo hoo! Also the game has no achievements, so I play it really relaxed without worrying about using hints and skips. Haven't had this experience in a long while. Feels super nice.
👍Thumbs up:
Gameplay is simple but fun.
👎Thumbs down:
No real replay value. I'm bad at the game. Easy to rage.
Full reviewI dug out this game since I saw my achievement partner asked for co-op help(although he already finished it). Decided to do some achievement round up and get multiplayer ones since he can help. Now that it's finished I'm gonna throw it in the finished game pile and be done with it.
In this game you chop trees, and you alter left and right to avoid branches. Gameplay is simple yet pretty fun, I'm just not good with it. Multiplayer achievements are mostly one side suicide for the other so that's fine, but the achievement I had problem with was "score over 200 3 times in a row". For some reason I just had a hard time getting it. There's over 5 times where I would fail at the third time at around 19X score, which frustrated me greatly. I've wanted to throw my keyboard multiple times. Maybe I instinctively just don't want to complete this one? lol
It's not a bad game tho, but not much replay value(at least to me) since the core gameplay is so simple.

Art style is great.
👎Thumbs down:
Achievement grind. Too much clicking.
Full reviewThis is a gift from a friend. I wishlisted it a while ago before being gifted after finishing Plantera since this looks quite similar to that and I had fun in Plantera and I like the art style. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the game as much as I would've liked.
This game has way to much clicking(even though I used an auto-clicker). Idk why I didn't have as much problem in Plantera(considering I didn't have an auto-clicker). Probably because there's no auto-harvesting for animals in this game? So for achievements and faster progression I have to click(well, rather move my mouse) a lot in order to create expensive potions. Another thing is unlike in Plantera where you click arrows to move, you move to different areas by moving your mouse to the side. It may seems instinctive at first, but in long term(especially for the amount of grinding you'll need) it really doesn't work well, and on top of that it scrolls pretty slowly. The background music with all the sounds for bees and potion making and sound effect in this game also gets pretty repetitive, so eventually I turned them off.
You would probably have an ok time if not aiming for 100% achievements, but I strongly recommend to NOT play this game if you don't have an auto-clicker.

Visual dingdongs I guess.
🤷Meh:
Everything really.
👎Thumbs down:
Invisible wall. Linear path. Side scroller disguised as a 3D exploration game.
Full reviewI found this game from Co-optional podcast from Dodger. All that she said was "there's dingdong dangling in front of me" and I got intrigued. lol(also it's short) She's not wrong tho, but since my laptop can't really handle it my dingdongs are pixelated.
This is a walking simulator with a press x occasionally to continue "gameplay". The story is boring and unclear. I generally don't really like games with very vague story, unless it has decent information and visuals so that you can form a basic theory. This game does not have that.
The other problem I have with the game is invisible walls. I always despise invisible walls especially in walking simulators because it's just bad design. It only only takes players out of immersion, it also makes the player feel annoyed because "I can obviously go there but the game doesn't let me". If you want to limit player's movement, the best way is to put obstacles in the way. Naturally players won't want to go there because there's something in the way.
I also wished the game has way more interactable objects. It's very boring to just walk through places when the backgrounds aren't that interesting and you have nothing to do.
👍Thumbs up:
Nice puzzles and art.
🤷Meh:
Story is a bit confusing.
Full reviewGot the game when it went free. Heard good things about it so decided to give it a try.
I'm not really sure what to say about this game. The puzzle is pretty great. I enjoyed it a lot. The story I don't really get especially since between pictures you're trying to solve the puzzle. The art style is real nice. Sounds I don't really know since I didn't play with it on. That's about it I suppose. :P

Story resonates with me. Art is good.
🤷Meh:
Story itself really. And characters.
Full reviewI'm surprised I like it this much. Well, tbh like is not really the correct word to use per say. Just, it brings up a lot of emotions. This is a monthly theme game.
If you really consider it, the story of the game is very generic. An unpopular boy meets a girl at sea shore and became friends with her. What really got me is that the boy is just very similar to me. Too similar in fact, that I cried twice. Maybe it's just me being under much pressure since I just graduated and don't know what the hell I want to do with my life. A bit of spoiler ahead btw. I cried when Cantus talked about him being laughed at when he did nothing laughable. And when his mom appeared and talked to him. The main reason is that I also had a similar experience that when my name came up in junior high, some of my classmates would laugh, when I have no idea why they're laughing. I ended up thinking it was because of me, and I'm bad. Another part is my mom is also a clean freak and has very strong opinion and personality. I'm at the point of life where I had to decide what to do for myself, but since I'm so used to listening to my mom's opinion idk what I should do. So yeah, it's just cuz the story resonates with me I suppose.
As for the characters, I would say the game did a pretty ok job at building them. Cantus is in his rebellious age and doesn't like to talk. Maris is just adorable. Albeit a bit affectation sometimes if I'm totally honest, but I still ended up liking her a lot. Chuckled many times cuz of her. Cantus' mom is alright. Not built that thoroughly but it's alright. His classmate is pretty interesting, although only served as a fill-in character. The art of the game is quite nice, although the face turning portrait of Maris looks kinda weird.
I'd say this game is most likely not as good as I scored it as(especially the characters part now that I've written all that down), but I am biased so can't really help it. Try it out if you want. It's at most an one hour experience, and also free so why not?

Real nice looking 3D models. Great shipping potentials. Achievement hunting is kinda fun. Character building is good(most of the times).
🤷Meh:
Background music and SFX.
👎Thumbs down:
Story not complete.
Full reviewThis is a Monthly Theme and a Challenge Me game~It's a VN. I've been playing a bit more VN, which is quite a nice change since I usually feel relaxed when playing them. I have found that I tend to need to mute the game and put my own music on the side since usually(at least the ones that I played) they don't really have nice or enough background music, so it just ended up being the same 3 tracks repeated or something. Since they are not that great it gets repetitive and annoying after a while. Especially for this game since it's quite a long VN. I did keep the SFX sound on, although that's also relatively repetitive. Also I used a guide.
This is a pirate VN. Story is about our main protagonist(who I can not remember the name of), who's handed to his step-uncle after his father left his mother since she couldn't support him. His uncle is a captain of a pirate ship, and our MC ended up rising up as the coxswain of the ship. After a failed mutiny he got locked away, but then the a shipwrecked happened and they got to an island at Bermuda Triangle. The story, tbh is kinda boring. My actual playtime is around 12 hours, but I put it at 11 cuz I think I spent around an hour of time playing puzzle games on my phone(I recently got into nonogram) and being distracted in general. What I do like tho, is the characters and the "potential" the story can have. Warning, if you don't like male x male relationship you should probably stop reading the next part.
You see, I am a huge shipper. I used to be a huge fan on shipping characters from movies/tv shows/games that I play or consume videos of. It's sorta like a hobby of mine, and I read a lot of fan-fics and saved a lot of fan-arts back in the days. I'm not as huge on it nowadays, but every now and then some things trigger my shipping side and it's a hell of a lot of fun. It's kinda like inspirations for writers, only that I "write" in my head. I did think of becoming a writer and write fan-fics and stuff, but let's just say my procrastination gets the best of me. In this game, you have these real nice 3D models. And the MC looks real handsome. You start off seeing MC locked in a small cell with all the description about how he got beat up and stuff. Then flashbacks of before the mutiny happened, and there's a scene where the captain was fucking a woman that they caught(typical pirates amiright) and then MC comes in to talk about something. That is great potential right there! An imprisoned play between uncle and niece, how nice. And then the ship broke down and there's a doctor that's a traitor stuck under a canon and you can save him. He's like, idk, looks pale and slim and is a perfect play thing to let off some steam for the guys. After that MC and another two(a cook and a boy) ended up on the island. The cook honestly is just an typical pirate man being driven by his lower half(according to later parts of the story) and that's another great place for something to happen. Then the MC and cook gets captured by local people who's ruled by a white Spanish military guy and then locked up. More potential! Maybe my mind's in the gutter, but I just love imagining it. :D The later part of the story isn't that interesting tho, but at the end when MC overthrows captain I'm like: "That's some wonderful revenge fucks waiting to happen right there. ". :P
Ok shipping part is over. Let's talk real about the story now. Generally I really liked the options and how the outcomes turned out to be. Most of the times it's decision making instead of randomly guessing(except when in the cave where you have to guess directions). And all the death paths have some brutal but awesome deaths. However, I did find the story drags on a bit too much with boring filler texts and stuff, even though it does help build the characters. There's also quite a bit of typos. One giant thing to note is, the story isn't finished yet. lol The 4th chapter is not out yet(not fully translated, according to the news section of the game) and I have no idea if it'll ever get finished since they said it'll be out soon back in 2017. I will say that the most unenjoyable(is that even a word? ) part is when they got to Kumram. I suppose it did its purpose since the place is filthy and it just makes me feel uncomfortable, but the orgy part is just too much for me to handle, especially since I'm a woman.
Character wise the story builds them really well. MC is kinda what you want him to be with(which is expected) but then he's still got a chilled yet serious vibe. The cook is my favorite character, even though I have conflicted opinions on him. He's humorous and tries to make situations feel better with jokes and such(even though sometimes they're inappropriate), and I just love when he sings on their small raft. However he's also an idiot when he's controlled by his lower half body. I grew a sense of disdain for him when they're at Kumram, especially down the orgy path. Like, before that yes he did say some of those nasty things but most of them were in a humorous fashion since, idk, he doesn't have the power to force girls into doing what he wants. When I chose the orgy path, it's just disgusting for me to read all of that. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Timmy is a bit one dimensional and bland honestly, even though he's made to be this character that we all should care about. Monique is kinda eh. Like, I know they are trying very hard to push the MC/Monique pairing but since my heart is already set on my own pairings I didn't really feel anything, and is actually kinda annoyed that "Oh right the beautiful independent woman has to fall for MC with just these unimpressive skills". I probably wouldn't be as annoyed if she's not like, all serious about their relationship when you chose the orgy part and she just brushed it off like "boys gotta be boys I'm just playing". Like if she's a strong independent playful pirate woman(is that weird? lol) that just doesn't care.
You know, sometimes I judge myself on these kinda things. Like, on one hand I ship men like objects or objectify them for my own pleasure, but on the other hand I dislike objectification of woman. Pretty hypocritical of me right? lol But like, I can't help it. xD We think what's beneficial of us most of the times, and since I'm a woman I naturally wouldn't want to see the latter happen. Welp, it's just something I ponder from time to time. I wonder about weird things sometimes. Like another time when I was doing dishes, I was thinking about what would happen if a disease appeared that affect women's fertility and causing only a few hundred thousand women that's able to reproduce left in the world. Would the woman be locked away and used as breeding tools or would woman rise in power cuz there's really few of them? In my opinion the former would happen. But what if the role reversed and it's now men? I'm honestly not so sure at that point. Or maybe it's cuz I'm a female and I'm biased. :P

See you next month~
Regarding Glare, the mechanics of inputting text to progress the story is called “text parser” on vndb, just in case you’re interested in checking more games like this.
Unfortunately, I had little luck with text parser games since I always had to follow instructions on what to write for every one of them.
Glare’s text parser was particularly obnoxious.
I’ve yet to find a proper well-done one but I’m not giving up!
You most likely got Glare1more thanks to a glitch that allowed downloading it for free and marked it as owned on the Steam Store. :D
I totally get the objectification thing. It’s much easier and more pleasurable to objectify fictional men, but it’s not the same with women. But then again, I play some dumb, pseudo-erotic games like HuniePop or the Keyhole Spy series.
Anyway, your post looks good. One thing I could suggest personally is sorting the games in some kinda fashion - possibly alphabetically or by status (completed > beaten > unfinished > won’t play > newly bought). Both would be the best, makes it clear to read (or skip ahead to the most interesting parts, I suppose).
Ah yes, I think that’s how I got it. And I decided to actually download it and give it a try.
Well, tbh if it’s done well, I also don’t mind that much of objectifying women(like HuniePop). I think it all comes down to a certain respect attitude? Like, even tho you’re objectifying a woman as an arousal thingy, you should still acknowledge that it’s a person. Idk, it’s hard to say. xD
Ah I see. Do you like the TLDR section? That’s the main part I’m concerned since I just added it. Also do you think separating the games into “above average”(> 5) and “below average”(< 5) according to their score would help with the presentation? And adding a “finished” section on the top with only game box? So people can browse and see if there’s any games they’re interested and then go down to search? So many options. :D
You were quick on the draw, I’m pretty sure my library isn’t registering it anymore.
Same, I love HuniePop! And about respect… well, I think it comes easier to me regarding fictional characters as a whole. Just like if you watch pornography, you should probably watch people you’ve no idea about rather than look for someone you know in a video. It’s a mental block most humans have, I think. At some point in your life you just know your parents created you, but you can never imagine them or anyone else you know engaging in coitus (unless you caught them? never happened to me, thank god), because you know those people on a much more important level.
I don’t really like the TLDR section, sorry :/ And I’ve no idea about sorting by score, as I usually don’t pay attention to that, but rather to the review itself. The “finished” section sounds cool though, if you’re going to include stuff other than just the things you’re done playing.
But I also get annoyed by fictional characters’ actions tho. It’s weird for me. xP
I was not thinking about putting other stuff, but rather have a preview of what games I wrote reviews so that people can see at a glance. :3 I’ll probably try that next month and see how it goes.
Ah, that can happen when the game is good. Or, you know… you just… enjoy it, at least to some degree. You get to know the characters and you want the best for them, it’s normal, I think.
Oh yeah, I think that could be cool too!
