March 2020 report
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing fine.
My workplace is closed for the public, but we still have work to do. We are rotating each day though, so I have at least some time for playing… or do I? Well, we bought new furniture, so no playing, instead we are building and cleaning all the mess. :)
I am late with my report because of new update for BLAEO generator and me not able to decide the look of my post. XD
Month challenge for March should have been renamed on “Let’s cry some more!” as I have shed so many tears. XD Really, stupid games! XD
Also I said last month that I have challenged myself for game completion, so for the April random number generator picked 16 - Life is strange, so here I go! I probably won’t play it again as I have played it already three times, I will just hunt those last missing achievements.
_____
Please excuse me if you find any mistakes, after I post my report I usually find many of them, but I really read the post few times before I send it out. X) Feel free to point them out to me. ;)
Enough of small talks and now to the actual assassinations! Good luck in a new month and have a nice Easter time everyone!
In this walking simulator you are following young blind girl Rae in search for her lost kitten Nani. On the way she steps out of her comfortable bubble and has to face new unfamiliar things.
Rae wasn't blind from the birth, so she has some kind of imagination of things surrounding her, but her thoughts can be sometimes misleading, so explore the world to the fullest. I loved how the world is slowly uncovering right before you, sometimes you stumble across rocks, pots or you bump right into tree. Hardest part was when the rain starts falling and your view of world is washed down, that was something for my orientation sense. Must be… hard if you can't see.
The graphic is beautiful, reminds me of aquarelle. There is only ambient music, usually when something important is happening, other then that there is sound of your surroundings - water, birds, nature and so.
Pace of this game is slow, so better to not play it whole in one go or you can get fed up with it easily. If you play it just by little bits you will be charmed by its calmness. Story is simple, right, but can you resist searching for cute lost kitten? Never. :)
I would just wish for different ending, okay, have to go and cuddle my two little devils.
Oh this was fun! :D
The Imperial Forge world is in dire need of saving as it suffers from enormous Ork horde invasion, but Captain Titus and his (two) comrades from Ultramarines are there to save the day! :D
Whole game has great pace and you are always in motion, so I have managed to beat it really quickly. It's pretty linear, you are following one route, but that's fine, you can't waste your time with unnecessary city sightseeing… you know, there is almost none city right now. X) Action is pretty good and can get tense quickly! You have nice weapon selection for your fight, 3 for melee combat (Sword, Axe and Hammer) and … eh, I forgot how many ranged weapons, but they are nicely varied. ;)
I enjoyed changing my weapons as they have different finishing blows, that was fun. :D Also, in some areas you are equipped with jumping suite and this is where the real fun begins! These parts I have enjoyed most, because as you are high in air for a moment then you strike with heavy force down on your enemies! Ha, that felt good. :D Shame that you can't have it on whole game, but that would be too easy. ;)
Story is good, straightforward, with some twists, but those can't surprise fan of Warhammer world too much. ;)
The ending just calls for another story with our dear Captain, but it seems like there won't be any, sadly. Still, it was great fun, can only recommend!
Valiant Hearts, game about the Great war, about the horrific history… we follow four different characters during those turbulent times.
I like the graphic appearance of the game, it’s simple and straight. Also I don’t mind the lack of voices in the game, they are not mandatory for the story. There are little talks, one word or short sentence and I have enjoyed the language variability of them. The game can in some perverted sense bring smile upon your face (especially when some characters are running or during driving mini games)… you know, one moment you are laughing and next you are watching bodies to pile up.
I appreciate the actual historic files where you can learn about the things or situation that happens through the game. Of course, there is a lot that was left out, as it wouldn’t be possible to include every bit of information in the game.
Gameplay is simple, but don’t take it wrong way, it serves the purpose well. Also some mini games were rather hard, especially the healing and one digging, garh.
It’s a beautiful game about horrible times.
Okay, this isn’t my cup of tea apparently. I thought that I will enjoy it… I didn’t much.
I think I got bothered by the characters, then by the story and in the end by the outcome. I will probably keep my eyes on the sequel, as I can at least know how it will end one day, no?
I liked the music thought.
This was one of the worst games I have ever played. XD
Well, the hidden object scenes and puzzles weren’t so bad and offered some variations, but the story was stupid and the voice acting was plain and in case of our heroine simply horrible!
I don’t know the first game and I am glad that I don’t. Luckily it was quickly behind us. ;)
I decided to complete this game and during it I started to hate it. I was completely fine with doing second run as I enjoy seeing other possible outcomes, but what I wasn’t fine with anymore was when I got hunting for one possible little difference in one stupid ending that I ended with my playtime almost 3 times higher!!!!
I like visual novels and enjoy hunting for different pictures, endings and so… but this games offered me stupid 8 saving spots, for like more than 50 choices! Even if I would made a backup I would go insane by the switching all the time and get lost. So when the saves I made were clearly not enough I had to make the complete clear run, even with the skip it took more than half hour and I just couldn’t find the right route. Gah, I got so frustrated.
Also I got pretty dissapointed, as one thing have not changed in any of the runs even though I think it should have been in the true route.
In the end the outcomes were not so different and that made me angry again for wasting my time so much. XP
Have I told you already how much I am enjoying this game? Much much! :D So much that it's currently holding me from playing Hollow Knight actually and that means something. ;)
One run is pretty quick, but if you want to see all the endings and fight the true boss you have to invest some time in it. I have made my own sheet of endings to see which decision leads you where and I am getting pretty near, currently I sit on 89%!
That means, yes, I am still playing it. ;)
Nothing new this time. :)
Big thank you for my wins! :)

Thank you, Kyrrelin, for your report. You always have such well thought-out, thorough reports….which I really like! <3
So…I installed Beyond Eyes thinking I might play it during the Walking Sim month on BLAEO…but it never happened. It looks like a good game…I think I would enjoy it. I have to give it another chance sometime I think.
I “beat” LEGO Star Wars Complete. But it’s the only LEGO game I’ve played where I didn’t feel compelled to complete it. Part of that is the lack of achievements (sigh) but part of it was that it’s an older LEGO game that kind of shows its age, especially in single player.
Mata Hari looks like a really good, old school point-and-click game. I should try it!
Degrees of Separation seems like a great game to play during this month’s multiplayer Theme. If I finish Trine, maybe I’ll try it!
The Divinity games look great…but I’ve only played Divinity: Original Sin. I want to play all of them!
What did you think of J.U.L.I.A? I backed it on Kickstarter forever ago, and yet I’ve never played it. For shame…
I totally agree about Fault: Milestone One. I played it in 2019 for the VN theme and…well…it was okay I guess at times. 2.5/5 sounds about right. Needless to say, I never picked up Part II. I think anime just isn’t my thing.
I was really interested in what you had to say about Solstice. I wanted this game for a long time, because it looked like a VN I would really enjoy (when I was looking for VNs I thought I might enjoy). I don’t mind multiple endings…but it shouldn’t be a chore to find that last obscure ending or two (and achievement (s))…so much that you end up saying, “[…] and during it I started to hate it.” Thank you for the warning. I still might play it someday, but I’m feeling like I might hate it like you did.
Thanks again for the report! I hope all is well!
Thank you, Trent, for your kind words. <3 I try my best. :)
You should give Beyond Eyes a try, it’s not a game per se, it’s more about exploring the world around you through the emotions. You can influence just a few things in the world, but the exploration itself fulfilled my curiosity. Just don’t push it too much and take breaks so you won’t get fed up with the slow pace. ;)
Yes, you are right, the feeling to complete this LEGO game isn’t particularly high, but at least we can see the percentual completion in the game, so we will give it a few runs. I miss my split screen, we lose so many studs because of it. ;)
I have enjoyed Mata Hari very much! Yes, it has that old school feeling, the mini games were also nice addition (just dancing could get little bit frustrating XD).
We had just started Degrees of Separtions and it’s very nice! The graphic is truly beautiful. <3
I haven’t played Divinity yet, but it reminds me of Icewindale and Baldur’s gate and Pillars of Eternity… so I thought it could be to my taste. ;) Would like to play it soon, but you know, so many others are already waiting. X)
I think you should play J.U.L.I.A.! I have made second run and it’s still as good as I remember, I like how the story is slowly uncovering before your eyes. Mini games are clever and fun. Also the graphic and music are very good. DLC is based only on one mini game and that was a little dissapointment but the main game is very good. Just, not sure if I had the same feeling in my first run, but now I have little bit despised our main heroine. Some of her ideas, thoughts, words went completely against me. But it was just all in a brief moments.
Okay, Solstice. Don’t get me wrong, I have rather enjoyed it first time playing. I liked the idea of two main characters and switching between them albeit only through storyline. Different endings based upon those two characters and their decisions were nicely done too. Getting all the achievements wasn’t too hard either, well except the last one for seeing all of the possible endings. It just didn’t make sense for me that this one particular ending was in that route… and it wouldn’t have been that big problem if I had some more saving spots. It’s hard to say what it’s important decision when you have two characters. And I have pushed it over the edge, I should have stopped for the day, but I just wanted my 100% and move on, but no, I had to keep pushing. That’s why I got so angry. Also I think that there could have been more differences in endings across the routes. What I would advise is to play two three different routes by yourself and then go with guide for achievements… the game just needs more saving spots really.
Thank you for reading again! <3 Take care and have a nice Easter! :3
Cataegis is that good huh? Is it a rogue-like? Doesn’t seem to have that tag on store but it sounds kinda like it is from your description 🤔
Degrees of Separation looks ok but Chris Avellone is a writer for this game so it might be really good.
Hmm, then I am somehow misleading you. XD
You have still the same levels as before, you just have new game + option and when you open some specific endings you obtain special bonuses. There is no permadeath, you can continue or load up.
From one simple look at it you would say it’s just quick arcade game, but there is hidden story which you open through different outcomes. It’s really nice to see those little changes. ;)
I am just at the beginnig of Degrees but it looks very nice, wonder how the story will unfold. :)
Warhammer Spacemarine was really a fun game. I too thought that it had the perfect ending for a sequel. The story was kind of enjoyable as well.
I saw you bought the Divinity games. I have several of them sitting in my backlog as well and I’m looking forward to playing them.
Happy easter to you as well! :)
I will probably do one more run. ;)
Haha, seems like we should challenge ourselves to it then. XD
Thank you! Have a good time. :)
How to spot achievements hunter:
Games is so bad it has 1/5 note, but still all achievements are unlocked :ok_hand:
100% ALBO NIC!!!
Well, on my defense all of the achievements can be opened through one playthrough. I only had to repeat one HOG scene. XD
