It’s February already? Time sure flies by. The probably most famous/important day this month is Valentine’s Day, a day to tell or show your significant other how much you love them (or feel pressured by society to feel lonely if you’re currently single). To avoid all that, we decided to go a slightly (?) different route for our theme. It’s called Classic ROMance, and actually refers to Read-Only Memory cartridges commonly used for console games (although CD-based systems are included, except PCs).
Yup, we’re pretty much ignoring whether or not a game includes anything actually romantic, instead we’re only focussing on games that were originally released for consoles and are now on Steam (and in your backlogs)!
The list is actually still under construction (sorry, those months just keep sneaking up on us!), but as always, feel free to suggest whatever you think is missing.

Do I have to participate in this month’s theme?
No, as with every theme, these are merely suggestions for anyone who is unsure about what to play next. If you already have a battle plan for your backlog and/or don’t like this month’s theme, you’re free to ignore it.
What happens if I don’t participate in the monthly theme?
Absolutely nothing.
What happens if I play all the games from the theme list this month?
Still nothing.
I don’t own any of the games from the game list, how can I still participate?
The game list is most likely incomplete. If you own or know of any other games that might fit this month’s theme, feel free to suggest them under the corresponding post.
I already played all the games I own from the theme list, should I play something again to participate?
If it was an awesome game and you’d like to replay it, sure, go ahead. Only replaying it for the theme won’t help you with your backlog though, so if that would be your only reason you should probably think about trying something else instead. (Although, if you have absolutely nothing else to play, you can still do that, I guess …)
But seriously, I don’t have any games from the list, any suggestions?
How about trying to finish something from your unfinished pile? Or actually try some romance games, if you’re in the mood for that (feel free to share/ask for suggestions in this thread). Or maybe a two-player game to play with someone you really, really like :)

Ooh, nice theme, and an excellent time to pick up Sonic Generations again. Played it a while with the girlfriend, got 3/49 achievements, and haven’t gotten back to it since. High time to reduce the amount it lowers my average achievement percentage ;) It was pretty fun too!
Interesting twist, I was 100% expecting a Love thing but that wordplay blew my mind xD

This is so perfect, since I JUST started a second playthrough of Mass Effect (annnd there’s plenty of romance in those games, yo.) I’m excited :) Happy February everyone!
I haven’t done a theme for this group in ages, but this one’s really drawn me in. It’s a great idea, and I have tons of Xbox games that are on PC now that I never played cause I’ve skipped that system since the original. Looking forward to playing something fun.

The little I had that matched the monthly theme I’ve already at least beaten, I believe (Ryse, for instance, which was great!). Oh well!

no, I’m too lazy busy to go through the ranking, since it seems to have picked up games played in previous months as well and requires a bit more counting … I’ll get it done this week though :)
By the way, how do we report having played through Mega Drive games? They’re all counted as DLC.
Just take screenshots as usual and include the name of the game in the description if it doesn’t appear in the shot. I’ll probably have to grant points manually for these games.
To categorize, what you could do is mark the whole thing as beaten if you beat one of the games and then completed if you beat all of the games.
Where would you like me to post the screenshots? I’ve thus far beaten 3, but I forgot to screenshot one of them (Virtua Fighter 2), and I’ll not replay that one, because it was, quite frankly, pants. The two I’ve beaten are Bonanza Bros & Sonic The Hedgehog
