It’s the third month of the year, and true to the saying “all good things come in threes”, we have three mini-themes around that number prepared* for you:
- Trilogies: Play one or more titles from a trilogy.
- 3 Characters: Play a game with 3 main characters, where you can play/switch between 3 characters or where you can play co-op with exactly 3 players (you + 2 others).
- 3x3rd Person: Play 3 games in 3rd person.
You’ll find examples for these in the games post, where you can suggest more if you know of any games that might fit. We didn’t list all games that can be played in 3rd person, since there are probably a few thouseand of those on Steam ;)
Use this post to let us know if you’ve played any games for the theme.
* as “prepared” as a theme gets when I’m the one hosting it :S
Huge thanks to skanda for helping out with the theme this month!
FAQ
Do I have to participate in this month’s theme?
No, as with every theme, these are merely suggestions for anyone who is unsure about what to play next. If you already have a battle plan for your backlog and/or don’t like this month’s theme, you’re free to ignore it.
What happens if I don’t participate in the monthly theme?
Absolutely nothing.
What happens if I play all the games from the theme list this month?
Still nothing.
I don’t own any of the games from the game list, how can I still participate?
The game list is most likely incomplete. If you own or know of any other games that might fit this month’s theme, feel free to suggest them under the corresponding post.
I already played all the games I own from the theme list, should I play something again to participate?
If it was an awesome game and you’d like to replay it, sure, go ahead. Only replaying it for the theme won’t help you with your backlog though, so if that would be your only reason you should probably think about trying something else instead. (Although, if you have absolutely nothing else to play, you can still do that, I guess …)
I just happen to be playing Journey Down Chapter Two. So I guess I’ll be taking part this month after all! I might give the Risen trilogy a go too.
Still a few days left but I’ll report in now. I beat/completed the following:
The Journey Down: Chapter Two
The Book of Unwritten Tales
The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles
Holy Potatoes! We’re In Space!?

Yesh, sounds interesting! Though needs a bit more thought from me… I don’t think I own any full trilogy I haven’t played. 🤔
How about AGON? I never played the game, but it seems like it fits the theme
AGON - The Mysterious Codex is a trilogy featuring the first three episodes of the AGON series(…)
Also, Calvino Noir might qualify, as there are three characters to switch between, if I recall correctly ;)
I thought AGON wouldn’t qualify, as it has more parts than the three, just like Broken Sword, Blackwell etc. that have “trilogy bundles”…
Thanks for suggesting Calvino Noir, have to check it out. ^^ It’s already in my queue, very conveniently. ;)
Ahh, I see. My bad then, sorry :) And no problem, I played Calvino Noir some time ago and it was alright. It could use some general tweaking and polishing, but it’s certainly not as bad as the reviews make it look, in my opinion :)
Off topic, but since you’re still alive, you should probably update this thread: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/CnJoh/wishlist-treasure-hunt-l1
Okay, so I’m fairly certain The Witcher and Bioshock are trilogies. I think imma start on either one of them. I’ve made some progress in the original Bioshock but had to restart when I got a Remastered version.
Done.

24/03/2018: Three games played for the theme until now: Tomb Raider, Bully: Scholarship Edition and Mafia II.
I think these 3 games should fit the 3rd person theme: Evoland 2, The Inner World, and Gold Rush: Anniversary. Silence should meet the requirement for a game with 3 characters you play as (Sadwick, Renie, and Spot).
Well damn, I played Small Town Terrors: Livingston and Pilgrim’s Hook just yesterday and the day before yesterday. Talk about bad timing :D But I’ll play the third one, Galdor’s Bluff, for the theme \o/
Played Livingston in the morning, and Gandor’s Bluff is still to be played :P Though mostly because I was too sleepy to start a new game in the evening :D
