Quick post for this month recap !
I played nothing. I just moved to another country to start Uni, and it took me a lot of time, to find a house here, and move, and get use to the new town, going to Uni and meeting people. And get Internet too ^^ ! But now everything is ok, routine is on, and I’ll have time to get back to gaming. Maybe not as much on WE, since I’ll try to travel with my roommates, to discover the country, but you get the point.
See you in a month !

I’m still not satisfied enough to apply yet, because I didn’t beat the 2 objectives I have set myself. I thought August would be plenty motivation, and it did, but not for the “good” games…
Each time I wanted to launch Shadow of Mordor, I wanted to yawn. The game is really repetitive… But it was a big win back then and I feel like I have to play it.
I didn’t touch Mad Max yet because I wanted to finish SoM first, since I don’t like to have 2 big games at the same time, and I was further in the other one.
But good news too !

This War of Mine (SG Win of this month!): Cool game ! Well I felt so bad sometimes, so not cool in the “fun” sens, but let’s say I enjoyed having some time on it. I think I got lucky overall, there so many time where I could have been so screwed, but nice neighborhoods came or I did a nice trade during the night, few. Also, winter and mayhem events came late.
Batman (SG Win): Well… First, the game is kind of bugged. I crashed in the 5 first sec of ep 1. For a moment I thought I wouldn’t be able to play at all, but no, relaunching did the job. Lots of stutters, wrong translation, subtitles desync or don’t appear at all, appears in VO… It’s not a good game on lots of technical points. But the story ! I’m not a huge fan of Batman I’m a Marvel’s girl ^^” but it liked it. There has been a week between ep1 and ep2 but I got really hooked in chap 2, and did the rest in 2 days because I wanted to know.
Mini Metro (SG Win of this month!): A game I wanted since it was out ! I love puzzle game, and this one didn’t disappoint. I was downloading it the moment it was activated on my account. Half of the game is really easy, and then the challenge come ! Some metro have a specificity, with the geography of the place, or the type of bonus you can have (like a Shinkansen wagon in Tokyo).
Lego The Hobbit (SG Win): Meh. I would have like to appreciate it more, but I couldn’t. I did other LEGO games that I really liked, but I didn’t feel it this time. Is it because of the game, or because I played too much LEGO ? I don’t know. You play a lot of characters - but most of them are dwarves, and are very similar. I kind of rushed the story and didn’t do the optional quest. Maybe I’ll try to complete it later ? I don’t know how to feel about this game.
The Journey Down 1+2 Bundle (SG Win): First one was boring. Basically you do nothing. No joke : 2h of finding missing pieces to fix a plane to go somewhere else. I really hesitated on doing the second one. I saw on How Long To Beat that it was longer, so I gave a shot. It is becoming more and more interesting in this one, you feel the story is unraveling. But the best of the series seems to be in the 3rd game, since you arrived at destination at the end of the 2nd one… I’ll recommend it, but don’t make it a priority in your list.
Stardew Valley: It was a while I didn’t play, and I stopped at the end of Autumn year 2. I decided to relaunch it since the game “end” when you finish Year 2 and Granda judge you ! Thank you for giving me 4/4 Grandpa \o/. I really liked it, the Harvest Moon on PC I always dreamed about.
The Witness: I already did most of the game during the year, but I nailed it this month. I could have finish the game because it doesn’t require to go through all zones, but I was missing only 2/12. This month I did them and could appreciate that fucking annoying ending. You literally see everything you did disappear one after another while you fly over the island. Checked some explanation online, some says the game show you that “History won’t remind you if there is no one to witness yours actions”, and now I understand why this game is called The Witness, and you know what game ? Fuck you.
Fallout 3: Finished the main story, did 3/4 of the DLC, but I don’t really find them good. I might play again a bit more, but in my head it’s over. I really liked it. People scream because “it’s not a real fallout !” Well, I did the first one, and it was a cool game, true. But I liked that one too. I maxed the discussion skill, and it was really funny. Of course I died a lot because I sucked in battles, but I also solved quests in nice ways sometimes.
Pony Island: Nice indie. The concept was entertaining. I died quite a bit on some levels, but eventually I managed to finish it. I’ll put some song from this game on my phone !
No plan, because I don’t respect them anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
On my journey to join Actually Playing Games \o/ 19 games
Decided to kick my SG backlog this summer ! I started easily, with some short to average length games, to give me some courage. I know that this month was the one about big games, but I’m in holidays since yesterday, so I had to find small objectives for my weekends. (And I needed time to finish Trigger Happy Havoc :P)
Trigger Happy Havoc : it was SO cool ! I really don’t regret buying that one, even if it was a bit out of budget considering my usual expenses. But you need to really dodge spoilers if you want to really appreciate it. Luckily I knew, ans was able to love it until the end. I’ll keep it installed for trying to get more achiev now.
Steredenn (SG win) : I actually met the dev 2 years ago, when the game wasn’t on Steam yet, at a local video games convention (Stunfest ♥) in France (the devs are also French). I really liked, and I was sad to miss the HB monthly in which they were, but hopefully I won it. It’s a rogue schmup, and you better got lucky if you wanna make it to the end. My playtime is a bit low on it, I had a beta version on which I tryharded first.
Tesla Effect (SG win) : I never played any other Tex Murphy games before, but the trailer looked really fun. I admit I was a bit disappointed, the rhythm of the game is really slow, as the previous games were I imagine, but I didn’t had the nostalgia effect to make me like it. And I felt like I missed a lot of puns and jokes, because it was related to previous games. I believe it’s a game made for the original fans of Tex.
The Floor is Jelly (SG win) : nice platformer, the concept is fun. I didn’t felt like doing the achievement on this one : except the one which you have for reaching the ending, they all look a bit tedious, and while I had fun, I don’t want to spend more time on it anymore. Some jump can me tricky, it also require a bit of thinking with some “puzzle” part, okay for an afternoon.
Ibb & Obb (SG Win) : Another platformer, and I really loved that one ! I played it twice, with 2 different friends, and the mechanics are really cool ! But it wasn’t until two weeks ago that I actually manage to finish the last stage, that somehow I never managed to reach before.
Okay, now that I’m in holidays, I plan to beat these 3 SG Win which will be longer. I’m already halfway through ME:SoM, but it get really repetitive, i hope I will find the strength to finish it ^^ I might rush the optional quest, while I did them in the first part of the game. I really like LEGO games, so I think The Hobbit won’t be a problem. I tested a bit, and it seems cool. I don’t know what to think about Mad Max yet, we’ll see.
Klocki was a short puzzle game. I admit I had luck for two or three puzzle, where I was a bit lost and swapped everything randomly. A bit boring in the end, the game don’t go far enough. It feel more like a demo of all the fun gameplay the guy found, more than a real game with these mechanics. “You have understand it? Okay, let’s swap to a totally different thing.”
Jazzpunk as really fun. Sadly, I watched a short Youtuber video about it, and knew half of the really good gag. I wish this game were longer to have been able to discover more by myself. But I also feel it’s the kind of weird and odd game where it’s fun because it’s a short mess, and too long would destroy the fun.
WonderGirl ♥ ! I really loved it. Old-school platformer, but with newer graphics.
Linelight (sgwin) was okay. A bit long at the end, I just wanted to finish it after some tedious levels in World 5.

Terraria
I already did Fallout 3 long time ago, off steam. Felt like doing it again. It’s the kind of game where half of the stories is in my brain. I like to admire everything and trying to picture what real life like that would be. Of course I wouldn’t even be as much badass as my character is in the game, but still ^^. Triger Happy Havoc is a game I really wanted to do, avoid anime and spoiler since years now, but i never bought it because it’s an expensive game. Finally, I could buy it last sales with my internship salary. So far, so good, i’m really happy to have waited and not spoiled myself. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (sgwin) is really fun to play with my bestfriend, that’s all I have to say :D. We also both started Terraria, and we are SO lost. It’s seems really fun, but we are both big noobs and our house is stuck between corruption and desert, we don’t really know what to do.
Hi !
Straight to the point :
The Turing Test : hated that game. For real. I really wanted to love it. I loved Portal 1&2, and Talos Principle. Here, the story was driving me crazy, the game contradict itself so much in this, uuuuh. Just no. Gamepley is meh, some nice idea but overall no real difficulty.
Fran Bow : majestic. It was a dark Alice in Wonderland, and I was ready to accept everything the story would tell me. It didn’t disappoint ! It took me around 6h, the first 6h was idling for the card (Steam badges will be my end ^^).
Don’t Starve Together : my best friend bought it for my birthday :D I played with her so much ! It’s not over yet, but we finished the exploration of our first world, and what a journey ^^ We miserably died countless of time, of hunger, monster, freezing, burning. Our camp took fire at day 125 because of a stupid mistake with a red hound (explode in fire when dead) and we had to rebuild everything with half of our chests destroyed. Yup I swear this game is fun XD
Plague Inc : put as beaten because I unlocked all the disease on max difficulty, still need to do all the scenario thought. I already played it before on phone, and it was kind of easy, expect a bit more time if you never played it. My favorite is the Neurax Worm. Why kill people when you can go into their brain and make them worship you ?
I have other games “not finished”, but I think these 2 will be the next ones in green :)
Wonder Girl : I rarely buy games on first week, but this time I had to. I first created a steam account to buy and support indie dev. When I saw this game, I remembered the true spirit of my account and bought it full price without thinking twice. It’s a remake, but it’s amazing. You can swap between retro/modern music/graphics at any moment/place (even “cutscenes”). The game is fun, they added difficulty (3 instead of 1) and you can chose if you want to be Wonder Boy or Girl. Oh, and I didn’t do the first version, but if you did and still have your save code, it’s compatible ^^
Linelight : SG Win. Simple puzzle game, was curious. It’s kind of okay, I like it but not for too long. Graphics are shiny, I like that. I don’t even remember the sound :( The difficulty is not really linear, it seems to have a lot of hidden puzzle, will need to investigate ^^
Hi everyone ! Long time no see.
It’s my last month at school for this year, before going to an internship, hence lots of exams and little to no time to play :( !
It has been an intensive month, and I’m happy to finally have time for me, even if I will miss the sensation I got during this month : those intensive days and nights with my roommates, the coffee, and lots of multiplayer games to rest ours spirits from time to time.
Most of it was the ARAM mode on League of Legends, feel free to add me if you want casual match from time to time : oOo KiiTa oOo. (My level is ~ Bronze ^^)
On Steam, we also payed this a lot :
It’s a very fun game, even if I’m not in RTS. The AI is a bit weird, going from “baby” to “nuclear monster” in one step, but overall it’s ok. I don’t know if I’m going to do the campaign tho. Also, the game can lag pretty quickly with too advanced AI, since they spawn units like hell. Still, very cool game to play with friends.
I hope these 4 months of internship will allow me to play more, I still have a backlog to assassinate !
I realize I did not even took the time to speak about my last plays, so here a brief recap
Jotun had a nice beginning, but meh, I did not love it as much as I would have wanted. The Valhalla mode should be accessible from the beginning.
SuperHot was a gift, so i’m going to be nice (^^ ): it was cool, a bit short but I don’t think it deserve its purpose considering the story. One major trouble : the annoying as f*ck “SUPERHOTSUPERHOTSUPERHOT” spawning on your screen with each replay…
Genital Jousting was amazing to discover on the TV with everyone around. Roommies and friends were grabbing controllers to play too haha. I hope devs will add more levels later !
Starting with the bad news…
I don’t know why, game won’t run. It was looking so cool, wandering with your baby cubs…
And what I’ve done !
I didn’t really like EfaDW. I’m more a scientist than a literary person, add that english is not my main language, and you will understand my pain “playing” this game. There is only 3 stories you can go through, so not really a lot to see. You can read other people text, I don’t know if I had bad luck but it was so bad that I did not insisted on this.
But Octodad was so fun ! A shame it was so short, each playthrough was ~2 hour long. I did it with a roomate, and the second time we did it at 4 with two other roomates. I really hope a second game is going to come.
I realize posting this that it’s not a lot in term of completion, but it’s because i started a huge piece. One of my roomate has a PS4, and seeing him play FFXV made me want to also play a FF.
And we are also playing right now Resident Evil 7 with a computer plugged on the TV, one is doing keyboard and another the mouse, we are taking HOURS for some bosses haha. But I maitain horror games are not my cup of tea…
Review for Beyond Eyes.
I got it in a Humble Monthly, and I’m very happy that way. The game is too short for 13€. Beat it one hour and a half.
But it’s alsol too long for its gameplay. You walk (at a speed of a turtle - I understand she is blind, but at this speed the problem is her legs, nor her eyes) in a blank world, which appear as you walk (and disappear behind you). The concept is original, but that’s all you do, you walk. I’m not againt walking game, because usually the story make you stay. But here it’s simple, you lost your cat (which is not even yours actually) and that’s it, let’s go find it. I felt bored, when I did not wanted to murder people in the Rain level (Rain make you lost almost ALL visibility - and nothing guide you).
