Megadimension Neptunia VII

I think this could be the best Neptunia game, though I still like the simplicity of the first game more. However Uzume is the best character in the whole series, as a Blanc fan I even like her more than Blanc.
Anyway, I noticed that my tolerance for grindy JRPGs grow little as I age. Even though I still like the stories, I have no patience for grinding anymore.

Now this is a cozy little kingdom game. I liked it back in days and I still like it. I forgot that some missions are harsher than Siberian cold, but it’s fine.

I felt that kinda missed playing the good old Borderlands but apparently I didn’t miss it that much. Finished the story and uninstalled.

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered

This is a worthy remaster, I guess. No idea what parts of it got remastered but the game is still fire and worth playing. One of the most satisfactory stealth games I’ve ever played.

7 Billion Humans

This was much more fun than pure Assembly Human Resource Machine. It was both easier and harder. Some of the OCD missions were almost evil and had to look for a guide for most of the speed optimizations. But it was fun to check others’ solutions and some of them were quite brilliant. Programming is fun when humans used. :P

Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force

Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force

This is the most mediocre title from Compile Heart. First, I tried to play the original but it was too painful to start. So I went with the “remastered” one. They quite improved the original but it’s still a mediocre game. The story is not interesting. The gameplay is usual Idea Factory title, meaning long visual novel session, grind grind grind, long visual novel session and so on. They even put some platforming and this is not a platforming game. It was terrible and I almost dropped it. I didn’t because it was close to ending, at least one of them. Eh, enough for me. I don’t think I have ever played a this boring JRPG.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana

Third game with the red haired Adol Christin. Whole game was easier than Ys Origin, kinda shorter too. Even boss fights were easier. This one had more platforming though and they were fun yet can be painful time to time. Generally it was pretty fun and apparently Falcom fans love this title too much since Falcom will release a remastered version and sell it for $30.

Why does no one like fairy fencer f! It was my 1st ever game from them and I love it. It was one of my 1st ever games to reach close to 100 hours

Huh, I kinda thought the other way when I saw the Steam reviews. At least those people think it’s good. I don’t know the others though. Honestly, if it was the younger me, like 15 years ago, I probably would like it, maybe even a lot. However I’ve seen too many of their games and seeing the same half-decent formula every time got boring for me. Even for Neptunia VII, it was obviously better than its predecessors but I didn’t enjoy it as the previous ones. Maybe my JRPG taste buds got bland, I don’t enjoy them as I’m used to these days. Not every one of them but most of them.

Cece09

Well granted it was you and zel. Zel just deleted it but I asked and I did get a its not to bad of a game. We basically agreed its a good beginner jrpg but if you play them on the regular not so much

Mitsukuni

Funny enough, I thought deleting them too. But I love Tsunako’s art too much to actually do it so I didn’t. I love those artbooks so I even get the deluxe sets when the artist is Tsunako. Shame that I didn’t like this game. Though I also agree that it would be a good beginner JRPG, well almost every RPG from Idea Factory is like that.

Cece09

Based on the others I played not so much. Its not as fan servicey as neptune which is its closest thing. None of that whole working out the numbers to make everyone like you at the end. But neptune is definitely the next easiest

Dragon star is kinda similar but you got this whole eating mechanic that makes you need to rush alot and the difficulty is well up there with certain optional bosses

Dark rose also has this rushed thing with time. You need to actually worry about your stats especially with that final boss (got screwed over with not putting stats into magic!), what you say to people and the whole true end is based on how much the girls like you and if you figure out the mystery person correctly or not which is based on who likes you the most which you cant really tell if everyone is the same

Agarest well thats a whole time thing. I think its like 500 turns or you fail. I mean maybe its easier then it sounds but you got multiple years in the game, I think its like 100 turns per year which sounds hard to me even if you did 1hit ko everyone but again I havent completed that I just know about its mechanics from reading about it

Death end though I did do both and those weren’t actually to bad. I dont remember anything to insane happening so maybe on the same level as fff and neptune.

The rest i have no idea about. I think its kinda like this where agarest and dark rose are like their 1st ever released games and there is definite difficulty there. But then the more they brought out the easier they got. They took more of that anime style to heart and that any one could pick them up. Basically they stopped being about war XD

Mitsukuni

Yeah it’s pretty similar to Neptune games, almost same. I haven’t played Dragon Star Varnir or Death end reQuests but kinda worried about them after playing Fairy Fencer F, I hope it’s groundless. I didn’t get Dark Rose even though it was on a nice sale, just because I read that it’s a mess of a port.

I’m actually learning that 500 turns thing from you. Now checked and it’s for true ending apparently. Well doesn’t matter for me since I don’t think I’ll ever go through all that again :). I mean it was a nice game but some parts of it was poorly done, especially those quest areas. At least they reworked them on Agarest Zero so it’s going more smoothly.

There was also Monster Monpiece and I found that amusing. There is Moero Chronicle as its continuation but I haven’t finished that yet, I don’t really like dungeon crawlers. Oh, and I still have Mugen Souls games to be played, and Trillion. I think those are all I have from them.

Basically they stopped being about war XD

Heh, war of fan services. :D

Cece09

Yeah dark rose is a bit rough. I won it and its a bit laggy. Kinda sad as I do love most of the characters in it its just such a pain to play through

Mskotor

I agree on Mark of the Ninja. True gem.
