Hello I have been gone forever but I am back
An adorable game about building an island for vegetable creatures called Gourdlets.
This game is very simple and straightforward. Money does not exist as Gourdlets are not smart enough to understand the economy, so you can just build whatever you want right from the beginning - aside from the 15 items you unlock by playing. There's multiple types of terrain you can use to develop your island, including grass, sand, and a few kinds of tiles and paths. While there really aren't a whole lot of items to chose from, it's still a great time decorating!
In addition to decorating the island itself, you can decorate inside of each building, which gives you a whole new set of items. While still limited, it's nice to have that bit of variety!
The more your Gourdlets interact with the items you place, the more they 'mature', and the more items you unlock! Just be sure to mouse over them when they have a flower on their head to unlock progress toward your parcel train!
Overall, 100%ing as a lot of idling to let Gourdlets mature so I could get the parcel train, but otherwise incredibly simple. A great time and very cute!
You are a Pomeranian making a mess of your brand new family's home, what more do you need to know?
My only critique of this game is that the language defaults to Japanese. There is a helpful thread in the discussions that explains how to switch to English :)
It's time to turn your brand new family's pristine home into a giant mess. Shake mud and…. other fluids? all over the house to make as much of a mess as possible. In the process, uncover hidden pictures to unlock the party room!
Really quick to just run through and play, but even getting all the in game achievements only took me about an hour - and that was with only looking two of them up. A great time, especially considering it's free!!
A simple game about collecting spirits based on activities and sounds. That aspect really doesn't take long to do.
The important part of the 'game' is the task tracker.
I wasn't sure how much I'd use it as I don't sit at my PC much, but I found it incredibly helpful! Just having everything I need to do listed and being able to check it off is always rewarding. Plus, I can sort my tasks into up to 6 different lists, which has been great. Overall incredibly helpful, I have it open every day.
Minami Lane is a short, cute game about building the perfect street!
There are 5 different levels in which you must please the citizens and complete certain tasks in order to complete! There are required tasks and 'optional' ones (which of course give you another achievement, so is it really optional?). It is a very straight forward game with cute graphics. The only aspect of this game I found stressful was the bike achievement - they're just so easy to miss!! Other than that, it was a very relaxing time.
Most achievements can be gotten through a singular playthrough if you're good - I only missed two. The only one you'd need to replay for is getting trash, though it may be possible to get if you don't automate trash pick up :)
In order to pay your daughter's medical bills, you wind up cleaning up after a notorious mob boss. What could possibly go wrong?
I honestly found this game far more fun and engaging than Power Wash Sim. Maybe it was the more in depth plot or the mechanics feeling better, but I had a great time and managed to 100% it when I haven't even gotten close to beating Power Wash Sim's base game.
It was fun looking for secrets and struggling not to knock over my own mop bucket. It was also great frustrating my friends by refusing to use detergent. The upgrades are great and definitely make going back to easier levels to tie up loose ends way easier. The levels seem to go up in steady progression, most taking about 1-2 hours to complete, and as someone who likes to do an entire level in one sitting, I definitely appreciated that they did not go much longer.
Ohhhh Doronko Wanko has been on my backlog for a few months, I know it’s super short but just need to pick it up. This is a good reminder, thanks! Also good to know re: default language, I had no idea that was the case
Definitely pick it up!! Was such a good time!
Welcome back! :3/ The map size/mission length is also one of the things I love about Crime Scene Cleaner, cuz I too love to play a map in one sitting. x3 Just feels more rewarding to do it all, and then look at the shiny clean place that you cleaned afterwards.
For Power Wash Sim, I initially didn’t like it as well at first(and also it makes me nauseous after playing for a while), but after trying it again with a seasonal map(santa’s workshop) and using the fixed camera for majority of my cleaning, I’ve found it a lot more enjoyable. I think it’s the fact that in that map your tools are upgraded to the max so it’s usually one swipe clean and that’s satisfying, compared to start of the career mode where it takes a couple more swipes and feels tedious. Fixed camera also helped a lot with the motion sickness I was experiencing. And also the seasonal map is just more interesting than career maps. :P
Ooh, I might try checking that out then. I don’t get motion stick, but the fact I really can’t do those big maps in one sitting just had me logging off feeling so unrewarded for the day. I’m glad they have the fixed camera though, always sucks when motion sickness ruins a game for people.
