February 2025 report
We played a lot in February! Continued playing already beaten games for achievements and for fun (not the last time you are gonna see them in the report) so the amount of completed games isn’t anyhow big, but the overall progress was pretty good. ^_^
I went a little insane and purchased a lot of new games… my nice stats turned upside down. Oh well, need to work even harder now.
Enough of small talks and now to the actual assassinations! Good luck in the new month and enjoy your games!
One of the best action adventure games! I think I played it soon after its release and I fell in love with it right away. There was just a little problem… tiny, really… I couldn't surpass the final fight where the controls get swapped and rage quitted so hard that it was untouched to this day. The flame of the rage still burning inside me every time I realized what would follow if I decided to play it ever again.
Even though the game felt easier and shorter than I remember (practice makes perfect) the funny thing is that I was close to rage quitting on the same spot yet again… the fight is SO frustrating!!! Hah, but I did it in the end and thus surpassed my long-time archnemesis! 😁
Aside from the ultimate boss fight I love everything about this game! The story is captivating, thrilling, and with some nice twists. The characters are nicely written, and you will easily become attached. The less important characters don't get much of a space to show off but it's still fun to interact with them. Equipped with a camera and dai-jo staff you are safe to explore the various caves, and enemy strongholds the islands have to offer. Even though the staff is a powerful weapon, Jade's camera is maybe even more powerful as with it you will take evidence of a horrendous conspiracy that threatens every peaceful citizen of the planet Hillys. Oh, and you can take with it cute photos of the various animals and creatures lurking around! If you want some more adrenaline you can join hovercraft races and fight for fame&cash! But beware of the bandits that will try to rob you if you roam around the wrong places - you need to be really quick to catch them to get back the loot! Both of the races are challenging and fun.
My only complaint goes to the horrible camera lock during fights and the inability to properly evade enemy attacks. Also, I had a slight problem with the game crashing on me especially when trying to take photos on the water - which resulted in me being unable to collect all photos as the water snake was only at one location where I couldn't leave the hovercraft to take the photo from inland. Luckily the old version doesn't have any achievements… but it still left me heartbroken.
Other than that the game ran smoothly. The visuals are older of course but I enjoyed them, although the photos were pretty blurred. xD The game has a great catchy soundtrack. The voice acting is of a good quality.
All in all, I can only recommend this masterpiece! :3
As the devastating earthquakes leave the cities in disarray, Dr. Ambrose Ink uncovers the location of their mysterious origin - a secluded mountain town Hochwald and its castle under the oppressive rule of the General engineer Barber. Dr. Ink calls for our help but the moment we arrive in the town he gets abducted by an enormous robot! We need to find a way to the heavily guarded castle, save Dr. Ink and stop the mad Barber before he destroys the world!
Short but rather enjoyable steampunk HOG with nice visuals. The story is okay although we don't learn Barber's motivation for the earthquakes - world domination I suppose? After all, he is a German/Prussian soldier… The puzzles and hidden object scenes are varied and of good difficulty, nothing too hard to stuck on. Sometimes I wasn't sure how to progress and had to search available locations for missed items or new hidden object scenes. Voice acting is of standard quality, just beware of some of the villagers - they are simply bizarre. xD
There are collectibles to be found (steambugs) and I really enjoyed collecting them! Aside from admiring their cute looks, you can learn more about them through short funny descriptions. Achievements are portrayed as stained glass, which is also a nice touch. After completing the main game you can continue in the bonus story, which serves as a prequel, and experience Dr. Ink's arrival to the Hochwald town.
Freshly started
Continuing
I will probably need to set a timer when playing long games on GoG as following it is rather hard… not sure if he shows it right across multiple devices.Backed

BGE is one of my all time favourites. I still keep the Level Magazine from 2003 about it somewhere in the house. Still waiting for BGE 2 hopelessly after all these years.

Heh, I was more into SCORE. ;) Although I still have Level issue dedicated to Might & Magic VII: For Blood and Honor. <3
Not sure how I feel about the sequel honestly. On one hand, I would love to see more, but on the other, I am rather skeptical about the visuals, story, and the whole soul of the game.

:D
I still have some music magazines dedicated to Avril Lavigne but let’s not talk about that. :D
My collection doesn’t go that far back but it’s nice to have ancient issues around. <3
Well, the sequel is an endless story at this point but I was really excited when I first saw some in-game footage circa 2006. Then they kinda changed it and it evolved into some universe-scale game for some reason. I still hope they manage to finish it some day, but it did look like it lost its soul.
Gosh, I played BG&E to death back in the day. I cannot forget how dumb I felt when the code for a locker or something was written on the sole of your shoes, and you had to rotate the 3D model of the object in your inventory to read it …. I looked for that code everywhere, for so long! I also remember it had some online component back in the day, and it was the reason I created an Ubisoft or an EA user account back then? Memory is hazy but something like that. Still love it!
Haha, yeah, the shoes! I also searched for the code like crazy. 😂
