December’s Stats
aka. The year comes to a close
Happy new year and best wishes to you all for 2024! I hope you’re all doing well. I can’t believe 2023 is over already. December’s been busy and even tho, as usual, trying to balance the backlog of newly acquired xmas gifts was a failure, I managed to keep the damage somehow controlled. At least I managed to finish my 20/23 challenge and played some pretty good games during this holiday season. I’m trying to be good but Baldur’s gate 3 is looking at me from the abyss to be added to the backlog.
Have you been getting anything in the winter sale so far ? Any exciting addition to your backlog ?

20/23 Challenge Progress (21/23)
Finished this month: 2Your most exciting addition became my most exciting addition, too… and then House Flipper 2 was added to the pile. Now House Flipper 2 is my most exciting addition. I blame you for both.
How do I get blamed when YOU attacked my backlog with Dredge first :glares:
Only 21/23 in your own challenge smh, EvilCasualSheep
And the two untouched ones are Dishonored 2 and Life is Strange 2. :sab
me who finished dishonored 2 and DotO less than a couple months ago: I know right? I can’t believe someone would delay playing that franchise for so long
I’ll try to finally remediate to that this year, ok  (Look I finally managed to play Hollow Knight, there is hope)
:glares:
Congratulations on completing the challenge! Do you plan on something similar this year or will you come up with a new challenge? ;)
I’d say that Baldur’s Gate 3 is staring at many of us from the abyss. XD
Thank you! I don’t think I will (unless you count the ongoing 8 years of BLAEO challenge), I don’t really have an idea and I think I need a break from the pressure for this year. But I might change my mind depending on what I see around. ;)
You are right, that’s also a big challenge, even more so it’s a time-limited one. ;D
And constant pressure isn’t good for health anyway. ;)
Bought 4 games from Steam, and for the first time, a couple from Epic (Remnant 2 and Midnight Suns). That 33% off additional discount coupon made those games significantly cheaper than on Steam, especially after Steam adjusted the regional prices. To be honest, I wasn’t really excited about any of the new additions. Of course I intend to play everything but I don’t feel any excitement at all. Gonna try them and hopefully at least one of them gets me hooked.
I hope you get a pleasant surprise playing your new acquisitions!!
Good job on assassinations and have fun with Jusant, it’s really pretty with fun climbing mechanics :)
I got Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition for Christmas and I intend to play it this year :)
Thank you! Jusant looks so cool indeed with those climbing mecanics, I can’t wait to try it. Enjoy Cyberpunk ! (I should get around to play it too this year, it’s still rotting in my backlog). Does the Ultimate edition includes the DLC ?
Yep, with the Phantom Liberty expansion so I got the whole package :D
Enjoy!!
I received a few games from the Steamgifts Xmas thread, so I decided that’s enough and I should play my games at home until next sale! And hopefully go back to some of my unfinished games.
BG3 though is definitely worth the purchase. I bought it full price and it has been the only game I have done that for awhile with, and had no regrets. I need to go back to re-100% it with the achievement they added…
That’s a wise decision :D
I do not doubt a second that BG3 is worth its full price, I’m more afraid on how much of my gaming time I’d sink into it the moment i get it
Well, I did spend a solid month playing as much as possible.
But with how good it is, the time flies by… you would just make more gaming time to play! :D (No need for socialising, or other hobbies such as sleep….)
Congratulations on all of your assassinations!!! ᓚᘏᗢ
I think you were the third person to finish an AI game this December and liked it, and I’m definitely gonna try and bump that game to paly next month.
I’ve just started Dredge as my first game of 2024!! I love it so far,
Thank you!! (what a cute cat emote)
AI was definitely a great surprise, I knew it was good but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I’ll probably get the sequel at some point.
I did start Dredge too yesterday as my first game of 2024 and I agree, it’s so good so far!!
Mostly skipping buying new games from sale with the exception of Endless Dungeon for co-op. Initial reception has been meh but have played only couple rounds (and only once in co-op). Is Wizard with a Gun good? It is in my possible co-co games list. Happy new year!
I got bored pretty quickly with Endless Dungeon, something just didn’t click for me. As for Wizard with a gun… it’s fun in co-op BUT it has its caveats. It’s far from perfect, it almost gives a bit of EA feeling even tho it’s not. Also in single player it’s very meh. Overall it’s a bit grindy and the ending is.. more than underwhelming (to say the least). So if you wanna play it for the story, pass. If you wanna play with good friends for shenanigans and you can overlook a bit of unpolish, then it’s entertaining, but will not remain in my memory like let’s say It takes two. For example right now we’ve move to Grounded (very different style, I give that to you) and we’re having more fun.
After couple more rounds in, both solo and co-cop, Endless will likely stay as a miss for me. Audiovisually it is good but the gameplay is lacking on multiple levels and action part is almost boring, which is pretty bad considering it is action game. Also, I found UI to be both confusing and hard to use. No idea about the story because haven’t reached the end yet. Will beat the game but this one is a disappointment.
Same here, I’m not even sure I have the motivation for now to go back to it and complete the story :/
