Backlog would have been cleared if it weren’t for those pesky free games :D

Happy back log clearing!

You got a big chunk of your backlog there. ^^
Would like to ask how much you enjoyed Killer is Dead and Mr.Shifty. Both have been in my backlog for quite a long now and i would like to know if they deserve my immediate attention.

Jaay Dee

KiD was weird, dude. But the gameplay was so satisfying. When you hit that parry and/or evade, and you get that slow mo kill, instant gratification. Shifty you have to play it, it’s like hotline miami but a bit difficult in my opinion because you only have to hit the enemies (who are armed) twice with your fists to kill them. You have some melee weapons which are not durable, but fisting and teleporting is the key :D. Story is meh, but it obviously wasn’t the focus of the game. You should try it out whenever you can!

Thanks! I will try to get it out of my backlog asap then. :)

Curious on your thoughts for Outlast, Brutal Legend, Hitman, Killer is Dead, and The Darkness II. Care to share?

Putting my opinion down in advance, and some reasons why I would like to hear yours, read… if you dare :3
I enjoy Suda51/Grasshopper Manufacture products, so I am a bit biased on Killer is Dead, but like to see what others think of it from another view. I have yet to play the latest Hitman, but I have heard good things, was your experience good? The Darkness series captures my interest greatly (both comics and games) and thoroughly enjoyed the games thus far. Brutal Legend for me was an odd mix, not necassarily unenjoyable, but a mix of gaming styles felt unnecessary, the real drive behind it (besides a huge motor heh) was its excessive amount of Rock and Metal themes, references, and soundtrack (oh and Jack Black). Finally, a lot of people give Outlast some gruff for being a predictable jump scare horror game, however I appreciated the helplessness it gave you. By the way, were you interested in checking out its Whistle Blower DLC?

HoLYAssAsIN

Hitman is a well-made game and you going to probably enjoy it if you are into assassinations and stealth gameplay. You can of course go guns blazing but i wouldn’t know about the outcomes. ;) It made me buy the previous titles to try them as well.
Brutal Legend is a strange game. You have to play it to decide for yourself if you like it or don’t like it. Personally i did play it when it was released on PS and i enjoyed it all the way. That’s why i bought it recently on steam to replay it.
Darkness II is a nice FPS with a lot of dismemberment. It’s a rather short game and even on highstest difficulty ain’t that difficult. I would say go for it.
Hope you don’t mind i decided to share my opinion even if you didn’t ask me directly. ^^

Outlast is amazingly atmospheric game, unfortunately it follows the same formula for the majority of game: run from patients and hide until they forget about you. Scary in the beginning but you get accustomed to it later. I’ll probably play dlc when I forget everything about the game so I can get scared again.
Brutal Legend is a fun hack and slash game, but the RTS parts of boss battles is weird and tedious sometimes, especially the final boss
Hitman is for me the definition of a sandbox game. You’re put into a location, you walk around and you hear people talking/gossiping about people/locations and it unlocks opportunities for various target kills, it’s fun as hell.
Killer is Dead, I still don’t know what the hell is the story of that game, the strangest I have ever played, but really cool and satisfying swordplay
Darkness 2 is the most balanced game I have ever played, the story is very interesting and gunplay is really fun. As holyassassin said, it is around 5 hours long, but it;s the perfect length storywise.

Jaay Dee

thank you!

What do you think of Back to Bed? It intrigued me quite a lot when I first started playing it, and I must say it’s quite a cool game. :P

Jaay Dee

It was alright and interesting, though as difficult as I expected, but a fun game
