Hi! I almost forgot about my Sunday update (?
Well, I finished Life is Strange. A game that managed to make me feel a horrible person at times yet transport me out of life. I liked it. I was thinking about playing it again with all the opposite choices but I’m feeling lazy. Do you guys think it’s worth it?
An I finally found a fix for BioShock 2 Remastered for my “Press space to crash issue”. I’m really enjoying it but it doesn’t feel as good as BioShock.
That’s it for this week, hope you guys are having a good time!
Good job finishing Life is Strange :) I’ve thought about doing a second playthrough as well, but similar to how I feel about the Telltale games I think all those choices you were led to believe were choices are only shown to be less impactful when the game forces all the routes to meet up, so seeing the flaws in the story like that would probably just make me feel negative about a game I really enjoyed!
I guess it’s a matter of opinion, but with some games I feel like that a second playthrough would take something away from the whole experience. For example, I’ve never felt like playing The Walking Dead seasons again. I kind of want to hold that memory of the first playthrough, if that makes any sense?
Happy to hear that you managed to fix Bioshock 2! What was the solution for your problem?
I know! That’s exactly why at the end I wasn’t sure of playing it again.
It is copying files from the launch version https://steamcommunity.com/app/409720/discussions/0/152390648089418436/ hope it works for you too! (:
Thanks for the link! I haven’t played the remastered versions yet but I’m planning to, so I’ll save this link in case I run into similar problems.
That wonderful remaster. For me 1st build crashed every hour, but after patch it started crash every 10-20 minutes. Just wonderful.
Btw, do you know if they fixed cheevos?
I found this solution https://steamcommunity.com/app/409720/discussions/0/152390648089418436/ But my problem was diferent, after I apply it it has only crashed once
I’ve played through Life Is Strange twice and loved it both times. As far as choices though, the only thing you need to play again is the last chapter with the last choice to see the different endings. Everything else doesn’t make much a difference
I’m surprised that people say choices don’t matter much with the exception of the ending in the last chapter. I don’t know your ending of chapter 2 but your choices FULLY MATTER in chapter 2 as in Kate either commits suicide or doesn’t based on the dialogues you pick and your past choices during your interactions with her.
Yes, sadly I agree that this is another game where choices don’t matter much but how can people get past chapter 2 ending so easily and brush it off as “doesn’t matter” where in fact a young girl’s life is totally dependent on you.
I wasn’t suggesting that that choice in Chapter 2 wasn’t significant, it felt huge, but from what I’ve read apart from the obvious absence of that person from the game afterwards, there isn’t too much else that changes and the story still goes on the same path anyway. I appreciate these decision focused games are really hard to make to have each choice branch off to new consequences but I think that’s why its best to just have the one playthrough and avoid seeing its limitations.
I thought about playing Life is Strange for a second time as well, but in the end I only played (the last part of) the final episode again to see the other ending. I looked up some other stuff I was curious about on YouTube. Maybe I’ll play the full game again in a few years, but for now I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything. I didn’t like the game as much as most other people though.
Hope you’re having a good time too :)
