Other than that bundles are a huge source for a backlog. For this month, please pick something from your fellow assassin, that has been bundled
For Pickers. Just copy paste and complete the data :)

* [GAME#2](http://store.steampowered.com/app/GAME#2-ID/) - HLTB Time: GAME#2-HLTBTIME

- Please make sure your games are sorted by completion before applying.
- If you so desire and you have at least 5 unplayed SG wins, the 5 games can be picked out of your SG wins (instead of only 2/5). Just note it in your application comment.
- Note in your post if you're ok playing multiplayer only games.
- Same for Early Access (I know some people want to wait for release).
- When you finish one (or more) of the games picked for you, please post an update by replying to your picker's comment.
- If the game has achievements, you can link to either the Steam or Astats page corresponding to your progress.
- If the game doesn't have achievements, please post a screenshot showing your completion.
- Finally, if you have completed all the games that were assigned to you but want another go at it, feel free to post another application.
- You can pick for/challenge up to 2 fellow assassins, please refrain to pick more so everybody who wants get a chance at it.
- You can pick for anybody who has applied and hasn't been given a list yet, unless they specified otherwise (see next point). It is recommended to signal with a "reserved" comment that you're currently picking for that person. This way it'll avoid the situation where you spend time picking games just to come back to somebody's comment 2 minutes prior.
- Please use the following criteria when picking a list for somebody.
- Pick exactly 5 games
- Length-wise: at least 2 short games (under 10h to beat) and 2 medium (under 15-20h). You can use HLTB to check the time, or more conveniently the Enhanced Steam browser extension (it shows the HLTB time directly on the game's steam page). That rule can be overridden by the bottom (i.e. pick 5 short games) but not the other way around, as not everybody has the same time to dedicate to gaming.
- Pick two SG wins unless the person specified SG wins only, in which case pick only in the applicant's SG wins list.
- Quality-wise: at least 3 of the 5 games should have a positive (or above) rating. You can use this site to quickly sort games in a user's library by ratings (thanks to JaffaCaffa for the suggestion).
- Please, respect the applicant's choice regarding multiplayer-only and Early access games, as well as other requests (exclusion of certain genre etc.).
- Please use the code below to post your comment, it's already formatted, you just have to copy/paste & complete the data.
Do I have to participate in this event?
No, this is an event to help you reduce your backlog. If you already have a plan and don't want anyone to pick games for you, you're free to ignore it.
What happens if I don’t participate in the event?
Absolutely nothing.
What happens if I play all the games picked for me this month?
Still nothing. (You might get a shiny profile badge at some later date. And you can come back for another batch.)
What if I don’t have time to play 5 games?
Don’t worry, one is enough, we’re just asking the pickers to select 5 to give the player a little choice.
One of the game picked for me won’t run on my computer for X or Y reason, what do I do?
If this happens, please notify the picker by replying his comment and ask them to pick a replacement. If the original picker don’t give you an answer within 24h, don’t panic, just leave a comment and we’ll pick one for you. Meanwhile, you could try one of the other picked games if you haven't played them all yet.
I played all 5 games that were picked for me and I want more!
If you have completed all 5 games and reported your completion to the original comment, you can make a new request for another list.
When picking for other people, can I only pick “never played” games?
Not necessarily, you can also pick games that seem to have been abandoned but haven’t been categorized as “won’t play”. No beaten or completed games, or games being currently played obviously.
Why are there so many rules for picking the games? I can’t be bothered!
We’re trying to make this enjoyable for everyone so if you decide to pick games for others, please read and follow the rules. I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for the pickers too, but if it’s bothering you too much, remember you don’t need to pick games for others to join the challenge.
I’m new here, can I join the challenge?
Yes of course (and welcome to BLAEO). Please just be sure to have your games sorted by progress before signing up for the challenge, to make it easier for your picker.
I probably won’t beat all 5 games in just a month but if anyone feels like picking some games for me, that’d be nice. I’ll try my best to beat at least one! xD
Also, I don’t think I have any left but just in case, no multiplayer games please. Rest is up to you, you can pick from both never played or unfinished but as I said, don’t expect too much!
I picked games I have played before and enjoyed :
- Alpha Protocal - HLTB Time: 13-26h
- Company of Heroes - HLTB Time: 19-86h
- Devil May Cry - HLTB Time: 9-40h
- Game of Thrones Telltale - HLTB Time: 12.5h
- Lara Croft Go - HLTB Time: 3.5-7h
Sometimes, I forgot the games I own! xD
Quick question about GoT Telltale game, can I go in blind? I don’t really remember much of GoT, I never finished the show as I kinda lost interest in it. I’ll probably remember some characters but I won’t remember much of their background so I hope it won’t matter much.
But I can see myself beating some games! At least DMC! Kinda in for some action game so it fits my current mood!
And thanks for picking some games for me.
You can go in blind. No problem. The story is about a different minor noble family (as far ad I know not from the books or TV show) just basically set in the GoT universe and some of the main chars will also appear.
But no spoilers.
And I greatly enjoyed DMC whrn I played it. So have fun 😁
Short update, DmC done, dlc was a bit boring but the main game was fun! Lara Croft Go done too, nice game but turned out to be really hard towards the end.
And right now I started Alpha Protocol. Honestly at first I felt like I would drop this one fast… xD But the story, and the fact that we have some choices to make kept me going so far!
Lara Croft Go gets harder at the end, I totally agree. I had levels where I wanted to stop.
And Alpha Protocal is not the newest games. Some people I talked to about it were not too fond of the shooting/aiming shrug I liked the story aspect of it quite a bit when I played it.
It’s the shooting/aiming for me too that almost made me drop it, it’s quite something to be honest. Having to aim for like 5s before being able to shoot precisely is really annoying! That, and the general gameplay, it’s pretty hard at first. Going in stealthy is almost impossible (at least that’s how I feel) and the mini games are a pain to play with a mouse and keyboard.
But the story proved to be promising and fun, so I kept going and before I knew it I was hooked. What’s really good is that you can’t really fail any dialogues apparently, it just opens up or closes opportunities. That’s a pretty cool concept and it almost make me want to replay it again once I beat it. I should be close to beating it too, I finished all three locations already, so hopefully I’m starting the ending phase!
I have played it three times already XD
I am glad that you enjoyed it. I played it first shortly after it came out so I had not the huge problems people have with aiming since I just wasn’t so used to other kinds of aiming, if that makes sense shrug
And yeah you cannot really fail in the dialogues, just not getting all the choices.
So I finished Alpha Protocol. It was a really fun ride. I liked the ending. Was definitively worth playing in the end but I’m not sure I’d be confident to recommend it to others xD because it feels like it’s a 50/50 game. But I must admit it was a nice surprise!
I finished Game of Thrones as well and it was interesting to play but a bit sad to finish. Reminded me of why I dropped the show xD there’s too much different stories going on, everyone dies every time and obviously there’s never a good ending. I still managed to get a few positives but not my favourite kind of story.
There’s also no more stats to compare what others picked! That was a bit of a letdown too.
Glad you enjoyed Alpha Protocol. Well I will still recommend it to people because if they do not like it they can still drop it, but if they like it they might be surprised with it ;)
And yeah GoT is sad in the end, I mean you can basically not save anyone. And I agree 100% that it is super sad that you cannot compare your stats any longer, it’s one of the main reasons you play this type of game.
Ah yeah it’s a good way of thinking! I was more debating how I could explain its good point. I mean, I know I enjoyed it myself but why? It’s not exactly a smooth gameplay xD
But after playing Back to the Future, I could see that a good/fun/engaging story can help a lot even if the gameplay is a bit dated. Because Back to the Future is a boring Telltale game sadly. It’s a lot harder to play this one even if it’s for the monthly theme :(
I also installed Company of Heroes. I’ll give it a go soon, hopefully. Though beating it might be out of question! xD
Don’t get me started on Back to the furture, I now remember why I dropped it after the first episode, though I am now nearly through it. Just one more episode to go.
And I really loved Company of Heroes and play it for over 20h.
Company of Heroes is not too bad indeed. But I’m not a big fan of real time strat games (or whatever it’s called), because I’m quite bad at them xD I prefer to have time to think to plan things!
Though, for now it isn’t too hard, I managed everything without losing yet, despite some pretty close fights!
Have fun with the defend the hill scenario then XD
I love CoH and RTS in general and I nearly gave up here. Survived with I think 2 soldiers left.
The last month I participated was a disaster. So let’s try again! I bought a bunch of stuff on the sale but surprisingly finished all but one, trying to keep the streak going.
Reserved! What do you prefer, unfinished or never played? Plus, is your list ok? Because I saw games with 2 hours of playing but they are classified in Never Played.
Anything goes! I only bothered cataloging games that I’ve beaten or completed, so some games in “never played” may have some playtime and some in “unfinished” were probably never touched, except for card farming.
Ok, I recommend games that I I played, because of they are better than a blind pick
- Alphadia Genesis - HLTB Time: 17 h. A nice turn based RPG, I played it on mobile and I have good memories of this game. Plus 1 of your SG games.
- Divine Slice of Life - HLTB Time: 3 h. A Dharker Studios visual novel. They are for adult and they are entertaining. With this the SG requirement for picking is covered.
- Agatha Chrsitie: The ABC murders - HLTB Time: 7 h. Nice point & click adventure based on the Agatha Christie book. If you like the gerne, go for it!
- Dungeon Siege III - HLTB Time: 15 h. You can start for the 1st if you prefer, but they are independent stories, so I recommend you this Dungeon Siege III, it is a nice action RPG too, with 4 very different characters, skill development and other interesting stuff, plus it can be finished in a month.
- The Darkness II - HLTB Time: 15 h (100%). Jackie Estacado wants to finish his story…so take your supernatural powers and go to end in this 1st person shooter.
You have a nice variety of games, and a lot of interesting too, but they are too long for a Challenge me (Divinity Original Sin, Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remastered, etc.), so I hope you will enjoy this selection. If you want some change tell me and I will check on it.
Have a nice gaming!

- Project Highrise - HLTB Time: 9/40
- Human Resource Machine - HLTB Time: 4/7.5
- Spelunky - HLTB Time: 17.5/87
- Supraland - HLTB Time: 13/22.5
- Half-Life - HLTB Time: 12/15.5
The HLTB times might seem pretty high for some of the games (Looking at spelunky and Project Highrise), but imo these games are best played just in short bursts of 15-30 minutes, so I would consider them short myself.
Considering you’ve made the list, I guess you already know the games anyway, and don’t need another introduction to them. Sooooooo:
Enjoy your games, and make sure you finish Half-Life, the third one might actually be coming out pretty soon :)
P.S.
If you want anything replaced, either because they’re too long, or just don’t wanna start that specific game rn, let me know and I will replace them
Thanks a lot for your selection, really looking forward to these games :)
With HRM, Spelunky and Half-Life you selected three games I bought during Steam sales, so I’ll start with them as they fit the current Monthly theme ;)
I’m really curious about Project Highrise as I loved Sim Tower as a kid. :D
Oh this was fun! Really looking forward to play any of their other games in the future :)
Okay today I learned two things:
- I HATE Spelunky
- I LOVE Spelunky
:D
Other than that I already finished Half-Life. I really see why it is one of the best rated games on Steam even if I’m not a Shooter fan ;)
Project Highrise is also fun, I’m just not sure when this game can be counted as beaten and as I’m not seeing me beat Spelunky any time soon, I’ll first concentrate on Spuraland first :)
After a really bad gaming month for me, last month, here I am asking for this again.
I will bend the rules a bit, so I at least have a chance to complete the challenge this month.
Hit me up with up 75 hours of games from these lists that I could complete 100% during this month:
Past monthly themes
Games from Bundles
Anything goes, as long as the games are not purely Multiplayer. I am already working on the steamgift games, so that I will take care of myself :)
- Last Day of June - HLTB Time: 3-4h
- OPUS: The Day We Found Earth - HLTB Time: 2-3h
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered - HLTB Time: 8-9h
- Moonlighter - HLTB Time: 14-25h
Psychonauts - HLTB Time: 12-22h - MagiCat - HLTB Time: 8-24h
Okay tried to take something from different genres. Hope I found something you will like :)
Let me know if I should switch something.
Have fun and good luck with your challenge :)
PS: Just saw there is a broken achievement for Moonlighter (+ a few from a DLC) and a date specific for Psychonauts. So if you want to 100% those games maybe I should switch them :/
Last Day of June I wanted to start not long ago, but then last month’s challenge me came out… So I post-poned it a bit, hoping that I’ll finish the other games in time to get one more quick game in there. It seems that it wants to be played anyway, so I’ll do it as my first game for sure :P
I have no idea what to say about the next 2, I just hope they’ll be good. I’ll be going 100% blind into them, that is sometimes a good sign :)
Moonlighter I don’t mind doing. I’ll just get the DLC if I can manage to get all of the other achievements by the end of the month, otherwise I’ll just finish it at a later date. I have some faith that the broken achievement will be repaired at some point.
Psychonauts I would like replaced though. I heard that the game is really good and I will play it. But I think I will rather wait either for Christmas, to be able to 100% it or to get the 2nd one as well (after it comes out) and play both of them at once.
Thanks a lot for the choices, they are looking pretty solid tbh
P.S.
I actually got Last Day of June in June, just as a small fun fact :P
(I might or might not have just made a complete new post instead of replying… My bad? :D)
Okay then I cross my fingers that Psychonauts will come out till Christmas so you can get both done then :) I switched it with MagiCat. Haven’t played it myself but it looks quite cute :3
Last Day of June is a really lovely but sad game, hope you’ll like it :) it should be an easy one to complete with the help of a guide. OPUS shouldn’t be a problem either, maybe the 1000 stars achievement could get a little boring, but it’s definitely doable :D
Fahrenheit is a good game overall, I’m just not the biggest fan of Quick-Time Events ;) Fortunately you don’t have to play it through completely multiple times to get the different endings.
Amazing, thanks a lot for the choices <3
I know this is a bit late, as I was really busy the past moth, but
- I’m still working on some of the games
- I kind of quit some of the games for now XD
So let me start with the beginning.
I have finished the main story in OPUS, and I will most likely finish it over the next month. It was a really cute game, so I really appreciate that you chose it for me.
Magicat I have started and I’m slowly working on it still. I kind of enjoy it, but it gets boring if you do bursts of it that are too big. So I just play it for a few mins every other day and finish a few levels. At this rate, it will take a while until I finish it, but I will finish it.
Last day of June was really great too, but I didn’t have time to play it more yet. It will most likely be the next game I go for, so that’s a good thing I guess.
Moonlighter I started, but slowly got overwhelmed by everything, and considering my limited playtime every day, I gave up on it for now. But I really enjoyed the style, so it’s not a goodbye for good.
Fahrenheit wasn’t really my style, but I might give it a 2nd try in the near future.
Over-all, I really enjoyed the challenge, and I won’t take a new one until I’m done with at least 3 of the games, not to start a ton of stuff that I will never end.
Enjoy whatever you’re doing now!
Red :)
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the challenge overall :)
I can totally understand you on Fahrenheit, you have to love these kind of games to like it.
Hope you’ll have some more fun with the games =)
Last Day of June I wanted to start not long ago, but then last month’s challenge me came out… So I post-poned it a bit, hoping that I’ll finish the other games in time to get one more quick game in there. It seems that it wants to be played anyway, so I’ll do it as my first game for sure :P

changing the date works for psychonauts but yeah if you end up enjoying the game you will be wanting the sequel! oh its taking so long to arrive!
Why did I post this as a complete new post and not as a reply, is going to be one of the questions that will forever haunt me XD
I know that that works for the most games, but I would rather just get the achievement in the way it was actually supposed to be aquired

Late again, yikes! Finished 2 last month. :3
Please choose shorter titles.
No multiplayer games.
Fine with early access.
No horror which overly uses jumpscares. I’m bad at horror so please pick light ones.
For easier picking, look at To Play and ABC plan lists. :3
As always, thanks for digging through my huge backlog. x3
Reserved :3
- GRIS - HLTB Time: 3-6h
- Hidden Folks - HLTB Time: 3-5h
- AER Memories of Old - HLTB Time: 3-4h
- Animal Lover - HLTB Time: 10-11h ¹
- Anna’s Quest - HLTB Time: 9-11h
¹ This is a little high on HLTB, on astats it’s somewhere between 3-6h. Depends on how fast you read ;)
Have a lot of fun and let me know if anything should be switched
PS: The SG wins I selected are fitting this and next months PAGYWOSG theme :)
Thanks for picking! That’s some nice games. :3/
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered - HLTB Time: 8h
- NieR:Automata™ - HLTB Time: 20.5h
- Space Pilgrim Episode III: Delta Pavonis - HLTB Time: 2h
- SUPERHOT - HLTB Time: 2.5h
- Papo & Yo - HLTB Time: 3.5h
I enjoyed all of them.
Just beat Superhot. Thanks for the recommendation, it was really neat and different then I thought it’d be
Haven’t done one of these in a while. Please pick games under 15h and try to go with SG wins only: You can take a look here under 8h and between 8-15h
reserved :3
(Just to clarify, those lists consist not only of SG wins, right?)
Yes they have all the games with those HLTB times in it. Though wins should have the tags won on steam gifts.
ah right, detail view shows that ^^
but seems like there are only very few SG wins in those lists. (For example would love to choose one of the Yakuza’s but unfortunately too long ^^)
So that kind of gets me into a predicament xD
What I would choose for as games that are of high quality and that I recommend the most would look like this:
But that is quite lacking of SG wins, so adjusting into that direction would be more like this:
So guess you can pick which of those to select ;-)
(Mirror’s Edge remains not a win but just too good not to pick xD)
ROFL I might make it a mix of both ;)
