Stats End of September 2024

I was able to finish my “300 games finished in 2024” challenge :D

Also I reached the goal for the 66% beaten of games added in 2015 and 2016. However the lists didn’t include “Won’t play” games. I added them now and will try to get the 66% with this extended lists too.

Felt like I just saw your post but apparently not as here it is a day later. I had to give it a 2nd glance as I was like wait already posting your end of year stats :o
Nice job getting your 66%

Moony1986

Haha no still 3 months to go :D Was busy with PoP end of cycle stuff, so BLAEO had to wait till today =)

Let’s see if I can get the 66% again. This will be some games. But then I can go to later years in 2025 without a guilty conscience.

Kyrrelin

Wow! Big congratulations! 🥳

Thank you :) 🩵

Woah, 300 games in less than a year?! Were you picking some of those back up from previous years or is gaming your main/only hobby?

Moony1986

A lot of the games were short (about 2/3 were at most 8h long) so it wasn’t that difficult, but yeah gaming is my main hobby. Some of the games were also from my unfinished list.

Next year I plan to work on some of the long games in my backlog :)

Amitte

I haven’t been doing so hot myself this year (only crossed 200 a few years ago by playing a lot of short free games), but you’ve set the bar high.

Maybe I can try getting up there next year. :)

Moony1986

I have over 3 times the games then you, so you don’t have to play that many games to get your backlog down :)

Also it seems like you are a completionist, which I really admire. If I had tried to complete all those games it would have been a lot less. :)

Amitte

Yeah, but between your won’t play list (though I gather it’s subject to change) and the F2P games on my wishlist, that number would get closer. Plus, I like a good challenge!

I noticed I’ve been wasting a bunch of time browsing the net, while I could actually be playing something instead… I think that would be a good push in the right direction :)

Moony1986

Just start with smaller challenges and if you reach them early just make them a little harder. One could be for example to beat more games than you add. This can be achieved in two ways so it’s easier than “beat 200 games”.

And sometimes just browsing the Internet can be relaxing and prevent a gaming burnout. :)

Amitte

No, seriously though, it’s been getting out of hand. Since I did manage to beat 200 games in a year before… I have to go deeper.

…and if I do get burnt out somehow, I’ll just go watch movies or try picking manga up again. Backlogs. Backlogs everywhere. lol

Talked to my brother yesterday and he told me about something he read about achieving your resolutions. It’s called the 12 weeks year, where instead of making resolutions for a whole year you make them for 12 weeks and then after those 12 weeks you can set yourself new goals for the next 12 weeks. This way you don’t think in March “oh yeah I haven’t achieved anything yet but there are still a lot of months left”

Amitte

I suppose that sounds reasonable… I’d probably forget about it though ^^;;

Yekhus

Lovely to see, as always. Just keep it up!

Thank you for your encouraging words :) 🩵
