Backlog Assassinated
After more than 3 years of dedication to my backlog I finally made it. During this time, I discovered some really great games (along with several awful ones). My expectations for, and perception of, games has grown and changed - hopefully for the better. I intend to make less mistakes in the games I choose, while still taking enough chances to find some hidden gems.
Steam reviews are up for all of these games.
First, I addressed the final unplayed game in my library, which had just appeared. This encouraged me to go back and complete the previously “beaten” game.

Next, I took out the remaining unfinished games. This went faster then expected because many ended up in the “won’t play” category - there was a reason I stopped playing them in the first place.

I then decided to check out this free game I had been waiting to try.
Finally, I noticed a previously “completed” game had several new updates and many more achievements. I will play this some more, but do not expect to 100% it again.

Whats up next?

Thanks! There are a few games I have my eye on, but I am going to take it slow. Though, I have been tempted to buy my entire wishlist, I think that would be quite a mistake :D

Ok, 19 games doesn’t sound like that much. I was a bit shocked here for a second, since I have like more than 100 games on my wl and was a bit worried here xD
Maybe one at a time :D

Yes! Now I can enjoy the wishlist games more knowing they can be played immediately, and that they will not be another “to-do” item :)

Someone… made it.
Resisting and not increasing your backlog even further over the years is a major achievement unto itself.

Congrats! But the most impressive number: your total number of games was increased only by 7, in one year! This is self-control! :D

Thank you!

Nice, congrats :D
I thought I would be first one, but looks like I will be 2nd that announced it :D

Thanks! You are so close!

Congratulations! I really enjoyed The Last Tinker City of Colors. Was it broken for you, or didn’t enjoy it, or something else?

Thanks! It seems some update broke camera movement for both mouse and controller. Someone commented on my review the beta works so I might look at it again, but I tried it a few years ago and did not like it then. I am not sure it is worth a 3rd look.

Wow! Very impressive. I can’t imagine how cool it must be to be able to buy new games without feeling bad about the backlog. Was there ever another post celebrating the backlog’s defeat? I once estimated that it would take me about 6 years to complete my backlog…so I guess at least I won’t be posting something similar soon :D
Are you planing to revisit some older games or is it straight to new games from here?

Some games I have beaten I will play again (Surviving Mars and The Caribbean Sail for sure). There may be a few others, but besides that I will pick up a game here and there.

Woow, congratulations, that’s super impressive!!

thank you!

Your local party pooper has come to say… Viscera Cleanup Detail definitely deserves a chance :>

Congrats! I just starting so see you 3 years later :D

Well done. It’s times like these I wish I had less games in my library ;)
April has been good to me, I managed to play about 18 games, though some of which were fairly short…

Thanks and good work in April! My highest completion month was probably the HOG themed month a while back :) As long as they were short AND fun short can be a good thing.
Congratulations on your backlog graduation! Favourite game ever?
Thank you! My top played right now Is Stardew Valley. More recently, I really liked Surviving Mars and am just waiting for the Green Planet DLC to go on a decent sale. Top “hidden gem” is easily The Caribbean Sail which will probably be toward the top of my playtime list after the next (free) expansion comes out.
